Steve has had a passion for training dogs and dog owners since he and his wife, Emily, got their first Labrador retriever, Casey, over 22 years ago. Once Steve was introduced to the world of retriever hunt tests and field trials and started working with his own dogs, he was hooked. Steve has learned to train retrievers and train the owners to train their retrievers from some of the best field tria

l training professionals in the country, from basic obedience to the advanced skills needed to compete in National and National Amateur Championships. Beginning in 1997, he handled his own dogs to titles from Junior Hunter to FC-AFC and National Amateur Retriever Championships Finalist. In 2007, he began training dogs for others and has been teaching basic obedience, as well as hunting retriever basics to advanced field trial work, ever since. As a professional dog trainer, Steve has always known that it was essential for the owner of the dog being trained to learn right along with their pet and/or future hunting companion. One of the greatest accomplishments he can achieve as a trainer is to be a part of creating a team from a down owner and his or her pup.
