Unfortunately you don't always have good days. We've been very blessed to have a extremely low loss rabbitry. Last night I went out to a doe eating some of her young. This morning I find 5 other babies on the wire ice cold. We worked for over an hour to warm them and save them but no luck.

Losses a plenty here today and it sucks, bad.

The good news is that both does have built beautiful nests for the rest of their litters. Our Molly was rebred, and the future will be bright.

Super proud mom moment. I have always let Kayleen set her own comfort level on how involved she wanted to be. She's not been lied to or mislead on what the purpose of our rabbits are. She decided she was ready to assist in a processing day and I honestly was worried. She stood next to me today and never flinched once she decided she was okay with it. We processed 5 rabbits and she thanked each one for giving us meat to eat. While many may think we are crazy or insane, at the end of the day we know exactly where our meat comes from and the manner it was raised. My daughter is also learning a skill plus anatomy and how a body works. Worse case she'll grow up and eat her meat from a store and think her mom had some odd hobbies growing up.

This time of year is proving to be difficult. The day job keeps me tied up during all the daylight hours Monday-Friday. Chores take twice as long in the dark trying to get light to the right place. Need to watch for frozen water and wind protection! Seeing our 3 litters doing great and growing makes it all worth while.

9 new babies! Pictures coming soon! Lachlyn did great today helped me process 9 grow outs! She was such a trooper and did a great job.
