As many of you know, my son is a wounded veteran. Thank God, even with all of his injuries & some things he's had to give up, he is able to get around & has a dog he purchased himself as a companion.
Upon visiting him when he was hospitalized, I saw so many wounded soldiers with long roads to recovery.
PAWS FOR PURPLE HEARTS is a wonderful program! Whether the dog is helping a veteran get around or keeping them calm during raging thunderstorms.
We understand money is tight all over but please go on their website: pawsforpurplehearts.org. Even the smallest amount can help our veterans who put their lives on the line for us.
Thank you.

To Our Clients & Friends,
It is with deep sorrow we have to share that our sweet Mimi passed away today surrounded by our staff. After a sudden change of behavior we discovered Mimi was in severe kidney and heart failure. We did absolutely everything we could to aid in making her comfortable. However our efforts unfortunately were not enough and we couldn’t fathom putting her through any more discomfort knowing the outcome of the situation. Mimi lit up the office between begging for more treats or greeting clients, she made it known that Twin Oaks was her home. We’ll miss her so incredibly much and we hope she made an impact on our clients as well. To our sweet Mimi, we loved you so much and we’re so happy we were able to give you a home that you deserved, we’ll miss you every day.

To all of you who have offered to help locate the owners cat which escaped from their carrier in our parking lot on Monday, we want to say thank you for your help and support. Whether you came out to help search or loaned extra traps to catch the cat, we appreciate you. Those of you who know us, know we are passionate about our work at Twin Oaks. Whether it be a friendly pet or an aggressive feral cat. For all of you wondering what we are doing to help find the cat or feel we aren’t doing enough to find the cat, we would like you to know we have placed numerous traps, notified local police departments, enlisted the help of trappers and also the help of a psychic. Under the advisement of trappers, we ask everyone to keep a close eye out but realize the more noise being made by people trying to do good could also frighten the cat more then he already is and keep him from his owners and the numerous traps set.
Thank you

Many orphans can be left a few hours to see if mom comes back...NOT OPOSSUMS! If you see a baby like this one in a yard or anywhere, get it quickly in a little box or pet carrier with a blanket and keep warm and call a wild life rescue. Momma opossum can have up to 13 babies. As they grow, they don't all fit in the pouch so they ride on her back. If something startles her and she runs, one can fall off. Momma doesn't know she lost one so please never ever leave one thinking mom will come back...
