We’re thrilled for you to meet Kelly Sorah, who will be at our grand opening event this Saturday!

Hi! I am excited to be part of this special event. I have always been drawn to healing and wellness. I became a Massage Therapist in 2005. Then I went back to school and became an Registered Nurse in 2013. I loved being a Nurse and something was missing for me looking at the root cause rather than treating the symptoms. My journey continued to unfold in July 2018 I lost my older brother to a drug overdose. And then two months later my Mom died from su***de. It was at that time I was signed up for yoga teacher training. I meet a few incredible lifelong friends one of those being Alicia. I went on to become a facilitator for yoga for 12 step recovery and for grief yoga. These two types of yoga I am extremely passionate about as they are near and dear to my heart. This allows me to hold a safe nonjudgmental space for others who are struggling to walk alongside them. I am now a Board Certified Nurse Coach. I have been blessed with creating two businesses: my yoga business and also my coaching business. The coaching business allows me to bring a holistic approach along with critical thinking of a nursing background together. What I love about both businesses is they support each other. I look forward to meeting you and hearing how I can best serve you in your journey.

Progress is being made step by step on the farm and barn, and are still making time for fun with our barn family. We’re excited for our grand opening event October 8th from 10-4 pm! Tours, pony rides, live music, vendors, and more!

What a day. “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” - Winnie the Pooh. It was time for Buster to enter semi-retirement from the work life at our farm. He’s back in the care and oversight of his dear friend from many moons ago, Carolyn, and has familiar people around him still where he is staying now. He has a wonderful family that is anxious to get to know him and be his new persons. Seeing him landing in such a loving, welcoming place with good people is such a blessing. Now I just have to get used to the void he leaves in our routines, herd, barn, and heart. He stole several hearts in his time living at this place. ✨ Best wishes to Buster, Carolyn, and the new family that will experience the joy that is Buster. 💗 - Alise, the rest of the Mitchell family, and the barn family at Wyld Thistle Stables.

We’re excited to announce that Larry Rothman, lead singer of Pickin’ Roots, will be performing during the family picnic at our grand opening here at our farm on October 8th! Pack a picnic lunch or buy food from our vendors, put out your picnic blanket or camp chairs, and enjoy this classic country performance at noon. A day in the life at the barn. So what that my weather app lied and told me to dress for a high of 70 degrees and rain while I had back to back things to do in the barn, but then after the storm passed, it turned 85 degrees with humidity that you could cut with a knife. Ah, Midwest living. What are those flecks on my shirt, skin and hair? This is what happens when you use the leaf blower to clean up after a farrier and vet visit and just wanna do that one last thing as quickly as possible, forgetting the wind is blowing towards you. Ah, hot mess living. 😬 Even with the discomforts that naturally come from showing up at the barn rain or shine, hot or cold, never clean for long, I wouldn’t trade days like today for the world. I was busy assisting while our farm’s horses were well cared for by Jack Griffes (farrier) and Dr. Nathan Zaul (vet). Both teach me new things every time they come, helping me to grow in my horsemanship. Being surrounded with knowledgeable, talented, helpful, humble, and kind people has made all the difference. My horses are learning to trust and rely more and more on me after just over a year of getting to know and work with each other. Anything I input towards them, sacrifices included, they generously give back a thousandfold.

We sure could use some help this weekend to get the barn looking spiffy for our grand opening event in October! We're providing donuts from Lev's Bakery this Saturday and pizza on Sunday for all our volunteers. We hope you'll consider stopping by to lend a hand! We can't wait to present all of our hard work to the community as we begin to offer more services from Kaylie Eaves Horsemanship LLC, Innova Wyld Farm & Yoga, and a variety of equine programming.

Shawn and I have both had the privilege of good mentors in our lives.
