Smiles for days ā€” thatā€™s Binx! This happy-go-lucky boy has been joyful from the moment we met him. Itā€™s hard to believe a dog this full of life was once on the euthanasia list simply because no one showed interest.

Binx is the total package: smart, handsome, people-loving, and loyal! Heā€™s sweet, affectionate, and has decent manners. All he wants now is a family who loves life as much as he does, and a strong leader to help him to continue to build his confidence.

On this Freedom Friday we are honored to spotlight Ginny and Luna. These sweet sisters were found at an abandoned construction site and brought to the shelter, where they waited and waited with no interest. Through KCASā€™s Streets of Bakersfield program , Jeff and Julie met them during a doggy day out. The girls charmed them instantly. Their gentle nature and bond were impossible to forget.

Just a few days later Ginny and Luna came down with a doggy cold and were suddenly placed on the euthanasia list. Jeff and Julie knew in their hearts that this could not be the end of their story. Jeff reached out to us right away and shared who these girls truly are. Loving. Kind. Worth saving.

At the exact moment we had room, and because of that timing and their determination, Ginny and Luna were given their chance at freedom. Jeff and Julie transported them to our ranch themselves, making sure the sisters stepped into safety and hope.

Ginny and Luna are now with us, healthy, loved, and ready for the forever family who will adore them the way they deserve.

Shadow is the ONLY man you needā€¦ because he will happily do all the things your man would roll his eyes at šŸ‘€. He wonā€™t ask why you need 12 decorative pillowsā€¦ he just naps šŸ˜“ in luxury and appreciates your decorative taste. Shadow will let you watch as many Hallmark Christmas šŸŽ„šŸŽ…šŸ» movies as you want, and will NEVER talk about how cheesy they are. Shadow thinks you absolutely SHOULD go get that second Starbucks ā˜•ļø for the dayā€¦even though you barely drank your first order. He responds immediately when you call his name (?? wild concept). Heā€™s potty trained. And doesnā€™t leave the seat up. Iconic behavior.
All jokes aside, Shadow is loyal, affectionate, energetic, adventurous, ridiculously handsome, and ready to be the new leading man in your life. He will be attending our Pawsitive Change Training Program, where he will be receiving basic obedience skills. We would love for him to have a home to go directly in to after he completes his program in 6 weeks.

Kermit was born a little different. He has Swimmers Syndrome, which made it hard for him to stand and walk as a puppy. He was found abandoned in a field, came to our rescue, and fought through challenges most dogs never face. His spirit never dimmed.

Kermit is 1 years old now, and has been with us for almost his whole life. He is happy, playful, silly, and full of love. Kermit doesnā€™t know he is ā€œdisabled.ā€ He only knows how to love, how to show up, and how to be joyful in every little moment.

Disabled dogs deserve forever too. They deserve a family who sees their heart first and believes they are worthy of being chosen.

Kermit doesnā€™t need someone perfect. He just needs someone who wonā€™t give up on him simply because he is a little different.

Rockyā€™s heart is HUGE! Once he knows you heā€™s the goofiest most affectionate boy, but itā€™s his stranger danger that holds him back and thatā€™s why heā€™s still in our care after 1 year and 7 months. Adopters want super social dogs and they struggle to navigate Rockyā€™s insecurities. Rocky needs an adopter willing to put in the time he needs to be the amazing dog we know he can be. Time, patience, understanding and this insecure dog will thrive! Can you give Rocky what he needs? He gets all the squishy wiggles when heā€™s with his people, people he knows and trusts. Jack has been at our Rescue for 2 years and 4 months, waiting for his forever home. We know the cards are stacked against him ā€” heā€™s a senior, heā€™s black, heā€™s a pit bull, and he needs to be the only dog in the home. But for those of us who truly know Jack, we see the dog behind the labels.

Jack is full of life, with a happy, goofy personality and a surprising amount of pep in his step for his age. He loves the water, adores his crate, and melts for belly rubs and treats. Heā€™s loyal, silly, and has a heart as big as his blocky head.

Jack doesnā€™t need much ā€” just a soft bed, a few good toys, and a human to call his own. After giving so much love to everyone here, he deserves to spend his golden years surrounded by love and belonging.

Her story began in tragedy: shot, paralyzed, and left to die with her puppies in a field near Visalia. But Bailey wasnā€™t done fighting. Against all odds, she raised her puppies into happy, healthy souls and, over four years ago, she found her dream home and the most loving adoptive mom.

What should have been her ā€œhappily ever afterā€ has been shattered. Baileyā€™s adoptive mom passed away suddenly, leaving behind not only a grieving family, but also this incredible survivor who must once again begin her rescue journey. šŸ’”
