Flower 🌼 is a dog who was a shelter staff favorite. She was taken to multiple adoption events, and had zero interest. Due to space, time, and no interest, Flower, was placed on the euthanasia list. Thanks to shelter volunteers Denise Lynn Smith and Kelci Van Der Horst we saw Flower’s videos, and heard about what an amazing dog she was. Then, one of our incredible fosters, Julie Meyer-Long, said she could foster Flower, giving us the help, and space, we needed to be able to rescue her. Flower is now in her Foster home, waiting for her forever home, thanks to the hard work of volunteers and her foster. Flower’s story is one that plays on repeat for us. Without fosters or volunteers we would not be a rescue! Fostering saves lives! Volunteering saves lives. We can’t recommend enough reaching out to your local shelter or rescue to volunteer or foster. Meet Kermit, a sweet and determined little puppy with a heart full of love and a lot of courage. Kermit was abandoned in a very deserted area, likely by a breeder. He was born with swimmer’s syndrome, a condition that affects his ability to use his back legs properly. But don’t let that stop you from falling in love with him — he’s an incredible fighter, and he’s making amazing progress every day.Kermit is currently receiving daily physical therapy, including stretches and exercises that help strengthen his back legs. His therapy sessions are tailored to improve his muscle tone, coordination, and overall mobility, with the ultimate goal of helping him walk using both his front and back legs.While Kermit is still working on building strength, he’s making incredible strides. He’s determined, curious, and full of puppy energy, always wagging his tail and looking for the next adventure. Our team is committed to giving him the support he needs, and with each passing day, we are seeing maj r improvements. Meet Chipi 🐾 Chipi was a part of an animal abuse case in Bakersfield, and was taken from the home, along with his brother Kite, by animal control. Both Kite and Chipi were then rescued by Marley’s Mutts, after Kite and Chipi found themselves with no adoption interest at the shelter. Chipi has since then been fostered and is doing outstanding in a home. His foster says he is such a sweet, easygoing boy who does outstanding in any situation. She says you’d never know he went through such a traumatic experience, and is always friendly to every person he meets. He loves kids and other dogs, and would make an excellent family dog!
