Sweet, sweet Flower 🌸 Her legs are worn with calluses, likely from spending years confined to a small space with hard surfaces. Her teeth are ground down, a sign of desperation, perhaps from trying to escape the harsh conditions she endured. Her swollen belly and nipples speak to the toll of constant breeding, her body a silent testament to the many litters she’s brought into the world. Though we may never know the full extent of her past, the wear and tear on her body tells us she wasn’t shown the kindness she deserved. Yet, despite it all, Flower is pure love. She greets life with an open heart, always eager to show us her gratitude for being rescued. She plays, she hugs, she finds joy in every moment—because she knows that chapter is over. She’s free, and her new life with a forever family is just around the corner.With her gentle spirit and resilience, Flower has already caught the eye of our Miracle Mutts coordinator, who sees the potential for her to be a therapy dog. She has so much love to give and a heart full of positivity. We can’t wait to see her find that perfect forever home, where she will be cherished, adored, and treated with the kindness she’s always deserved.

As we welcome the new year, Marley’s Mutts is reflecting on the incredible dogs who have been with us for over a year, still waiting for their forever homes. These dogs have shown nothing but resilience, love, and patience, despite the challenges they’ve faced in their long journey to find a family. Marley’s Mutts was founded with the mission to give every dog the second chance they deserve, and we’ve been so fortunate to witness some amazing adoptions in 2024. But for some, the wait continues. These dogs have been with us for far too long, and while they are loved and cared for at the ranch, what they truly deserve is a home of their own—one where they can feel safe, cherished, and part of a family. As we head into 2025, we are holding onto hope that this will be the year that these, “long stay dogs”, finally find the families they’ve been waiting for. Each of these dogs has a unique story and personality, and they are ready to fill a home with love and joy.
