We are getting a new phone system installed this afternoon. Yay! As you know, our old phone system was riddled with problems.

During the installation, our phones will be intermittently out of service throughout the afternoon. Please be patient with us and call back later.

Thank you!

In an attempt to better serve our clients and patients, we are having a new phone system installed tomorrow afternoon. During the installation all our phones will be down temporarily, starting at 1 pm. We have not been told exactly how long the phones will be down. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but anticipate this change will be of great benefit to everyone once completed.

Thank you everyone for your understanding and patience during these unprecedented times of COVID19. We have implemented new protocols to allow us to stay open and at the same time minimize exposure risk to our staff and clients. Part of that means we are discouraging cash transactions as cash money can serve as a fomite to transmit the virus (among other things). We still are accepting personal checks, but prefer credit card transactions.

If you have any questions regarding payment methods, please call at 661 822-6731.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Thank You From Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital

We the owners of Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful clients and amazing staff that have made this current crisis, that we are all experiencing, bearable. We know that this pandemic has impacted all of our lives in ways we could scarcely imagine a few short weeks ago. With so many businesses closing and so many people experiencing hardship we want to assure you that you do not have to worry about the availability of veterinary care for your pets.
In order to continue to care for your pets and our staff from possible viral exposure we have had to dramatically change the way our hospital operates by following guidelines given by Center for Disease Control and The American Veterinary Medical Association. We are now required to replace face to face interaction with telephone and electronic communication. We are fully aware that this can diminish the experience of a veterinary visit for some people but we must put you and our staff's safety first. Feel free to call our office so we can explain our new protocols to keep us operating and to keep us all safe.
To our clients who have been incredibly understanding and accommodating, we are profoundly grateful. To our staff who without exception have risen to this challenge with determination and grace, you have made us incredibly proud and so very thankful. You are all such a vital and indispensable part of our hospital. While we know we will get through this together. We cannot know how long it will take or what further challenges will be presented. But we do know that with understanding and kindness, compassion and civility the journey will be so much more tolerable.
Sincerely, Dr. Frank Komin and Dr. Steve Anderson

Given social distancing guidelines put forth by state and national offices, we will not be holding our monthly vaccine clinic that is normally held on the 3rd Saturday of the month. We will re-evaluate next month as to when we will resume the vaccine clinic.

Due to Covid-19 and our desire to minimize exposure risk for our clients and staff, we will no longer be seeing pet owners in exam rooms with their pets for appointments. Your pet may be seen on a drop-off basis or you may make an appointment and wait in your car while your pet is seen by the doctor. Please call when you arrive at the hospital so a technician can come out to your car to get your pet and take them into the hospital. This will assist in keeping everyone healthy during this difficult time.
Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.
