We need help from our rescue partners!!
We are always looking for rescues to partner with that are willing to receive dogs from Kern County.
We never charge the shelters in Kern County or the receiving rescues for our transports. This is a service we love to provide for free so we can help more dogs. The shelter vet or our premise vet provide health certificates and any additional testing (heart worm tests) and Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescues pays for all transportation costs.
Our ranch and foster population are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to transport. The shelters we work with do their best to ensure all dogs are healthy, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated as well.
Our transports are currently focused on the Pacific North West and Canada but we would love to grow our reach.
We are extending the invitation to any rescue willing to receive dogs within a 24hr drive of California. As our resources grow, we will expand even further!

We are looking for help with our Mutt Mover program. From our local Kern County community we need help in the following ways:
Short term fosters (typically 1 to 2 weeks) to house dogs selected for transport while they wait for their transport date
Volunteer drivers. We cover all the costs associated with our transports, including food and lodging for our drivers. We send two drivers on each transport, one staff member and one volunteer. We are always looking for more volunteers.

Please reach out to us today if you are interested in volunteering with our Mutt Mover program!

Our shelters are over crowded and dogs are dying every day. There are more dogs in need than we can possible save as a single rescue. Part of the solution we have been working on is our Mutt Mover program. This program allows us to move dogs out of Kern County and into areas that are not facing the pet overpopulation crisis we face. The rescues in these areas have higher adoption rates and more fosters that are willing to house dogs temporarily. Last year we were able to move 393 dogs out of Kern County. This year, we want to move more than 400.
