With temperatures in the 100s. We do what we gotta do ๐ฐ Early early mornings for us to attempt to beat some of the heat. Getting our AQHA Youth World horses rode (amongst others). ๐ก๐ฅต
We have exciting horses we are riding and preparing for the shows, some younger ones that are getting finished and older seasoned horses.
I feel so blessed to be able to do what I do! Grateful everyday for the amazing horses I have the opportunity to ride and train for my awesome clients. And also to watch the young and up and coming horses.

๐ด If the head and neck have to rock up and down to balance the horse, then that horse isnโt really lifting through their back and body. In a good lope off they should lift through their loin, step up behind, lift up and go.

๏ฟฝA good lope off transition needs:
1. Position 2. Lift 3. Impulsion
In order to get those ๐๐ผ you need to be aware of your horses body.
If I feel my horse losing their balance in their stops or being on their front end, I will draw them to the ground. This isnโt high stress. Itโs like going to the gym, this is her maintenance work. This is helping her to be the best mare she can be. I am helping her skill level but Iโm also strengthening, lifting, stretching her body to do it and Iโm helping her accept my cues.
This exercise will build her skill level, build her balance, build her strength.
I donโt care what event you doโฆ This exercise will help your horse lope off like a CHAMPION. ๐

๐ด How many of you have needed a better lope off transition with your horse? Iโm telling you transitions are so important no matter what event you do.
To teach your horse to correctly lope off... I want to go over 3๏ธโฃ factors in this video that are involved in the lope off.
A good lope off transition will improve your score in every single event that you do, it'll improve your score in any event and it'll improve your ride.
Even though I am on a Pleasure horse here, we do the same transitions for our All Around Horses, Ranch Horses and our Reining Horses.

Evening Rides
We had such a wonderful evening last night, I gave a couple lessons and then ended the night by having Bisbee meet Preacher. Preacher was a perfect gentleman as usual, he did nibble on her legs a little and thought her hair was very interesting. ๐คฃ All went well ๐๐ผ Then went to dinner with my daughter and her husband. We have been on the go A LOT! So it was nice to have a relaxing evening.
