There is a serious upper respiratory illness spreading quickly in our canine community. We are taking preventative measures to keep our clientβs pets safe including thorough cleaning of yard and kennels between stays and strict vaccine requirements.
Vaccine Requirements
Please make sure we have updated vaccinations for your dog/dogs on file. We are requiring Rabies and Distemper/Parvo be up to date and HIGHLY recommend Bordetella for extra protection against Kennel Cough. Vaccines must be administered at least 3 days prior to your dogβs stay and your dog must NOT exhibit any signs of illness in the last 10 days. Signs of infection may include diarrhea, vomiting, eye and/or nasal discharge, coughing, lethargy, etc.
Our Cleaning Procedure
We clean our kennels daily and spray our common areas and training equipment with a disinfectant after every use. All dogs have their own food and water bowls to prevent cross contamination. Should any dog start to exhibit signs of illness, owners are contacted immediately and the dog in question may be quarantined depending on the severity of symptoms.
How Can You Help?
Be mindful of public locations you take your dog. If possible, avoid high traffic areas. Wipe your dogs feet with a pet safe disinfectant cloth or spray. Clean your dogs food and water bowls regularly and throw away any old porous toys. If your dog shows any signs of respiratory infection, contact your vet immediately. Some of these cases have been life threatening. DO NOT WAIT!
