Day 1 of the Dallas, TX Repticon!
We've got 20+ Species of isopods (Dwarf Whites, Powders, Dairy Cows, Gestroi, Zebras, T+ and T- Albinos, murinas, Cappuccinos, Blue and White Pigeons, Soil, Panda Kings, P. Werneri, and many more) Bumblebee, Scarlet, and Texas Giant Gold millipedes. Tropical white, Temperate white, and Spanish Orange springtails. And plenty of supplies (food, substrate, seed pods, and starter kits)

Porcellio Laevis "Dairy Cow"
These protein hungry moo cows are one of the most common in the isopod keeping hobby. They breed VERY quickly and eat excessively. They will almost definitely eat any plant in a terrarium and if they had hands, they'd fist fight over a giant chunk of egg yolk, even if it's big enough to share.

Porcellio Dilatatus "Giant Canyon"
These hefty chonkers don't need as much moisture as most other isopods. They can do well as a clean up crew in more arid terrariums as long as they still have a moist area to retreat to. When keeping them in their own enclosure, they should have a minimum of 50% surface level humidity, but do best in a range of 60-70% (As a clean up crew- they do fine with spill over from a water dish and occasional misting, they'll also take refuge in a moist hide and come out to forage for food)

Armadillidium Vulgare "T- Albino" and "T+ Albino"
Can you tell which is which?
I'll give a hint-
T+ and T- refer to whether or not the gene for tyrosinase is present. Tyrosinase is the enzyme responsible for the first step of producing melanin(melanin is what gives animals - including humans - color)

Armadillidium Klugii "Dubrovnik"
Klugii has several different locals- Dubrovnik, Slano, Montenegro...
Dubrovniks tend to have more vibrant red while Montenegro tend to be a bit closer to brown. Dubrovniks mostly have white spots- but occasionally some have yellow. Montenegro has white and yellow, occasionally some have only white. And Slano look just like Montenegros with larger spots. There's also Orange Clowns and Pudding which were both isolated from colonies of Montenegros. (Pudding has no red skirts, Orange Clowns have orange instead of brown and red)

Porcellio Bolivari
These beautiful beasts are, compared to other species, very difficult to care for. A lot of keepers mistake them for needing a dryer environment because of their need for large amounts of ventilation. They need high humidity and plenty of ventilation, which can be challenging without fogger or some other humidifier.

Sinodillo Vietnam
These guys are FAST and amazing at playing hide n seek. As soon as you lift up the leaf they're under, they're on the other side of the bin buried under a new leaf. Finding one perfectly still is extremely difficult, but their beautiful coloring is worth it 😍😍

When you look closely, isopods have the angriest little eyes.
This little guy shows that even tiny crustaceans can make an angsty album cover.

Armadillidium Nasatum "Whiteout"
I've seen quite a few people mistaking pearls for whiteouts and whiteouts for pearls, so let's clear this up.
Pearls have color, sometimes orangish, sometimes grayish, they often have 'dalmatian' type spotting.
Whiteouts are albinos- completely lacking color with the exception of an occasional yellowish tint. If you look closely- you can see this whiteout's eyes, they're just white :)

Cubaris Pak Chong. Very finicky little beans. A lot of keepers in the isopod hobby struggle with these lil guys. Most species will tolerate temperatures slightly below their preferred range (colder just slows breeding for most), but Pak Chong will not. They require a range of 70-90F to stay alive.
If you like your house colder, set them up with a heat mat :)

Females tend to have white or light grey skirts, like this one here :)
