Meet Ashlee, the newest pup in basic obedience!
For Ashlee's first session we learned "Place".

What is the "Place" command? The place command is a dog training exercise that I teach so dogs can learn how to relax in a specific area.(like a raised bed or cot)

Why is "place" beneficial? The place command is beneficial for multiple reasons like:
•Independence: Dogs learn to spend time alone and be calm when left alone
•Impulse control: Dogs learn to control their impulses, which can help them in other situations
•Confidence: Dogs learn to trust you and look to you for direction
•Bodily awareness: Dogs learn to focus on their balance and footing
Household management: Dogs learn to stay in certain areas and avoid unwanted behaviors
•Safety: Dogs learn to be safe and not jump out of cars or other places when you open the door

Mr Oscar is doing so well with his training! His mom Margie makes sure to practice daily which is the key to success!
So far we've tackled: loose leash walking, place, sit, stay, and no more jumping.

We're feeling the heat now everyone!
Please be mindful of your furry family members in this heat!

Avoid walking dogs on hot pavement as it can burn their feet! Avoid playtime outdoors during the hottest times of the day to avoid heat related illness/death. Avoid leaving dogs in hot vehicles, windows cracked or not, this can cause pet death.

Remember if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them!
