Molly earned her Virtual Home Manners Adult title today!! 🎉🎉

To earn this title the dog has to:
- tolerate grooming
- sit on cue
- down on cue
- display manners around food
- respond appropriately to a doorbell/knocking
- go to “place” from 10ft away and stay there
- walk on a loose leash

This title is earned virtually by submitting a video of all the test item to an evaluator (me).

Molly and her mom work independently and I love seeing the progress she’s made when it’s time to do her evaluations for titles!

When I’m not working or training other people’s dogs, I’m doing stuff with my own dogs.

This week we went to Barn Hunt practice. Barn Hunt is a sport where dogs have to use their nose to find live rats in PVC tubes in the hay. To qualify in a trial they have to 1) find all of the rats in a certain amount of time, 2) climb up on the hay bales, and 3) go through a tunnel.

The tubes protect the rats from the dogs and are filled with bedding to provide a comfortable and safe space to hang out. These rats are bred for this sport and fed lots of treats for being the best little critters ever.

Love taking pictures of your dog but struggle to get them to cooperate? Here are some helpful behaviors for pet photography:

- stay/wait
- look at and follow hand/treat without moving
- jump up on surface
- front paws up on surface
- Head down or chin rest

If We Chip Pets registered your pets microchip, then those chips are not affected by this. We have never used this company. Just trying to getting the word out there to pet owners that mighty have been effected by this.

It has been brought to our attention that Save This Life microchips company has suddenly and without notice close and shut down their registration site and phone number.

If you have a pet with a Save This Life microchips please reach out to us. We can transfer that chip number to another registry at no cost to you.

Did you know you can keep your dogs out of your kitchen with a piece of blue painters tape and some kibble?

It sounds a little too good to be true, but it’s not. The painters tape acts as an easily identifiable threshold for your dogs to stay behind and the kibble (or treats) helps reinforce the dog for staying on their side instead of underfoot.
