Good Dogs with Kathy Kropp

Good Dogs with Kathy Kropp Offering all levels of dog training classes. Fungility (low impact agility), Rally classes and private lessons. She is also a member of the Assoc.

KATHY KROPP’S career began almost 20 years ago working with her own dog, a black lab mix named Emma (the dog from her logo). She found it to be so rewarding that it completely changed her relationship with her dog. She decided she wanted to teach others to have the same bond with their dogs. With numerous seminars and three years of apprenticeship under her belt, she started her business in Southe

rn California, teaching classes and giving private instruction. She quickly found a great need for owners wanting more than basic training. They needed help with problem behaviors which were causing them to become frustrated with their dogs, sometimes to the point of giving them up. This quickly became Kathy’s specialty, giving people the help they needed (often meaning the difference between a dog staying in their home instead of going to a shelter). With her intuitive approach and gentle non-force methods she continues to help people gain a greater understanding and respect for their canine friends. She has appeared on local television and radio spots and donates time to humane organizations. of Pet Dog Trainers. She now lives on the Central Coast of California and continues to pursue her first love of working directly “hands on” with people and their dogs. Kathy is an avid sailor, equestrian and accomplished guitarist and singer. She lives with her husband Jerry and their two labs Zoe and Nikko.

I will be honest. I still makes me upset when I hear of yet another dog who is going in for their "yearly vaccines". But then I wonder - are people aware of titers? 🩸

Vaccine antibody titer tests are an AMAZING tool (a simple blood test) that your veterinarian can use to measure the level of antibodies in your dog's bloodstream for specific diseases, such as distemper, parvovirus, or rabies.

By measuring the antibodies, we are able to see if we in fact do need to re-vaccinate, and therefore reduce the risk of over-vaccinating our dogs.

PS: Studies have shown that parvo and distemper have a minimum duration of immunity of 7 years by challenge!

Hi! I'm Xavier, a 2-year-old male German Shepherd/Doberman Pinscher mix! Some nice people at Woods just brought me here from LA and, boy, I sure am happy to be safe and to make room in my previous shelter for the owned animals separated from their families due to the fires. This move will help those families be reunited... and maybe it will help me to finally find a family of my very own here in SLO County! Could you be the one I've been dreaming of? I’m neutered, vaccinated and microchipped! Come meet me at Woods SLO from 12-4 p.m.

Hey there! I'm Randy, a one and a half year-old Pitbull mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! I'm a strong, high-energy dog who's full of life and, honestly, ready for any adventure you could possibly throw my way! I'm incredibly sweet and loving, but I can very exuberant when I'm excited. I need a savvy, experienced handler who can provide clear boundaries and consistent guidance to help me channel my energy in the right direction. With structure and patience, I'll thrive and bring so much joy to your life.

Let's be real-I'm not the right fit for a first-time dog owner or someone who isn't ready to put in the work. I'm big, strong, and determined, and I need someone just as confident to keep up with me. But if you're up for the challenge, you'll find that I'm as loving and loyal as they come.

Here's the good news: I'm super food-motivated and eager to please, which makes training a lot of fun! I've been working hard on my manners at the shelter, and I'm always ready to learn more. Positive reinforcement and consistent expectations will help me continue growing into the well-behaved dog I know I can be.

I love staying busy, and I'd be the perfect fit for an active person who wants a buddy to share their adventures. Hiking, jogging, or just exploring the world-I'm all in! I thrive with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to help me burn off my energy and stay balanced.

I'm neutered, vaccinated, and ready to meet my match! If you think you've got the energy, experience, and love to keep up with me, I'd love to meet you. I'm here waiting for someone who sees not just my big personality but also the incredible companion I'm ready to become. Let's start our adventure together today! Come to Woods in SLO to meet me, any day from 12-4.

Sunday's Sassy Shepherds/Not at Short 'n Sweet Rescue Alliance

Buster and Macy are looking for their furever homes. If you're unable to adopt, please consider sharing these Germans to your page.

Now just over two years old, these white Shepherds were rescued from the Tulare County Animal Shelter in August. Macy is easily recognized with her floppy ear and Buster are darling, intelligent dogs that are spayed and vaccinated.

They are crate and pottied trained and have basic obedience skills. Macy and Buster will definitely require regular exercise and a yard.

They are great with people, kids and other dogs. Buster and Macy are very sensitive and sweet. Both walk well on a leash and come when called by name and are highly food motivated.

If you are interested in meeting Buster and Macy please call Brent at 1-805-400-4145.
