We said goodbye to a very dear old friend today. Dexter passed away. I know in my heart he is with King. They are both watching over us from above. Good boy, Dexter.

We are seeking positive thoughts for our newest rescue. His previous owner believed he is at least partially blind. Unfortunately, his mother rejected him, and he is experiencing health issues. Currently, he is four months old and only weighs twenty-five pounds. I am concerned he is already imprinted on humans.

I want to thank everyone that contributed to our recent fundraiser. Even though we didn't reach our goal, every dime helps.

We have several females that need a home. We could sure use the space this winter.

While I absolutely hate making this kind of post, it is necessary. This has been a very difficult year for us but we remain committed to this rescue and the animals in our care as well as any animals that need our help. We can only do this work with your support. We do not have any paid staff. Only a small group of dedicated volunteers. We are in need of so much this year as we are starting over from scratch. Our most vital need going into winter is shelter and hay. We are also in need of a truck to pull our trailers. We have a few items we can sell that we don't really need, like an alpaca chute and a llama chute as well as a few scales. Let me know if you are interested. Please consider a donation, anything will help.

Part one

This has been a hard few months for us with much betrayal and loss. It is times like this that show us what we can be truly grateful for. I am posting some positive things that have happened recently. We rescued this little family a few months ago. I picked the little one up at the Vet clinic and brought her home in my Leaf. She is severely stunted. We went and picked the rest up including her sire and another male.
All are doing well. Both males have been gelded (one at Firwood Farm Alpacas & Rescue ) see part 2

Two purebred female Akbash looking for homes through no fault of their own. If I was able, I would take them myself. They are beautiful dogs. They are not experienced with livestock.

When was the last time your thoughts truly stilled? The last time your breath was deep and your muscles loose? If you can't remember, then it's been too long! Schedule a morning in our private forest and let nature nurture your soul. Remember who you are, remember your worth, and remember to breathe.
