Trust those gut decisions & take that leap of faith!

There’s one thing I LOVE about this image…

It’s not the fact that this mountain goat is about to make a massive leap, that if done wrong, could alter the rest of his life…

It’s not the fact that he even had enough faith to do so!

What I do love is this…

His eyes are focused on one thing only - his final destination.

He’s not looking down wondering if he’s going to fall to his death.

He’s not looking behind him regretting the decision he made, wondering what would happen if he took a different route to his final destination.

His focus is on one thing only - the other side.

Often times in life, we finally get the courage to make a big leap (whatever that may look like).

Then hours, days, weeks, or even months later, find ourselves looking down…

Looking behind…

Or even looking beside…

Second guessing our decision and wanting to retreat back to the point of our departure.

If you have decided to make a leap in your life, here’s your reminder to keep your head forward and your focus ahead - despite what you may be dealing with in the present.

It will be worth it in the end.

“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.” - Proverbs 4:25

A Lady asked an old street vendor: "How much do you sell your eggs for?" The old man replied "0.50¢ an egg, madam.” The Lady responde, “I'll take 6 eggs for $2.00 or I'm leaving.” The old salesman replied, “Buy them at the price you want, Madam. This is a good start for me because I haven't sold a single egg today and I need this to live.”

She bought her eggs at a bargain price and left with the feeling that she had won. She got into her fancy car and went to a fancy restaurant with her friend. She and her friend ordered what they wanted. They ate a little and left a lot of what they had asked for. So they paid the bill, which was $150. The ladies gave $200 and told the fancy restaurant owner to keep the change as a tip.

This story might seem quite normal to the owner of the fancy restaurant, but very unfair to the egg seller. The question it raises is;
Why do we always need to show that we have power when we buy from the needy?
And why are we generous to those who don't even need our generosity?

We once read somewhere that a father used to buy goods from poor people at a high price, even though he didn't need the things. Sometimes he paid more for them. His children were amazed. One day they asked him "why are you doing this dad?" The father replied: "It's charity wrapped in dignity.”

I know that most of you will not share this message, but if you are one of the people who have taken the time to read this far...
Then this message of attempted "humanisation" will have gone one step further in the right direction.

Thanks for reading

Welcome to AKC Fetch! When dog owners are asked about activities they like to do with their dogs, the most common responses are to take their dog for a walk, and to play ball (fetch) with the dog.

10/14/2023

Should be social, but not obsessed with people and dogs.
Should be house-trained quickly, but not wake us up in the middle of the night to go outside.
Should be motivated to train with food, but not so much that they snap at our fingers.
Should play fetch with us, but not chase the cat.
Should be fun when we have time, but calm when we don’t.

Aren't we expecting a bit too much, too soon?
Dogs are not born knowing how to navigate our world. We have a lot of rules that make no sense to them (such as chasing a ball yes, chasing a cat no). There are a lot of things to learn and it is OUR task to teach them gently.
If you get a puppy, do not expect them to fit into your life seamlessly. There will be a lot of management and training involved in the first 6-12 months. Adapting to all the (pretty random) rules we have for them takes TIME.
I see so many requests from frustrated puppy owners who really did not consider that puppies do not come knowing how to be a “good dog”. They are annoyed by the potty training, worn down by the chewing and biting and irritated by the amount of supervision the puppy requires.
They may even feel like the puppy is antagonistic - always doing what they do NOT want.
Think about it: The puppy didn’t ask for any of it. Didn’t ask to be separated from the littermates, didn’t ask to be placed in this or that family, and didn’t ask to be taught our 100s of rules. Still, they are just happy to be with us and go along with everything.
It is the LEAST we can do to give them the time and patience to fit in!
The next time you are frustrated by your puppy, think about how complex our world and rules must be for them. How different from the first 8 weeks of their lives. And how they still wake up with a smile every day and want to be our friends.
And just be their friend and guide in this complicated human world! 🐾

Part of getting the perfect hand or hard stack is to set those front legs straight down underneath your dog's front end.

Be mindful not to overstretch the rear so as not to pull your dog back into a posting position.

Once the front legs are set, keep the head in place so that your right hand doesn't pull the dog back when setting the rear.

Finally, keep your dog's weight distribution up over his front.

All these components will help you get your dog into a perfect hand stack.

We have about 45 turkeys in the yard every morning, we live on a Wildlife Refuge and had a pet deer for over a year, the dogs live downstairs and have free access to the big outdoors whenever they want, every morning it's bark bark bark at those turkeys in the yard, eventually they quit, I'm assuming they think they live here too... which is true enough... we wait for them to cross the drive some mornings

I’ll bet a fiddle in gold, against your soul.... seems like an appropriate name for a Golden Retriever Kennel name !

I’d like to take a moment and introduce myself. I’ve had an amazing 20+ years with Spanish Andalusian horses, striving to produce quality foals with a few quality horses that I also enjoyed riding and training myself. That is why, when my son ask me for a Golden Retriever for his 16th birthday, I did not take it lightly. I began researching and found him an amazing pup in Evie. She is the daughter of Lifetime Crufts Qualifier and International Champion of 18 countries, the one and only Nenuoramos Wings of Wind. The Lord planted a seed, a new seed, and the next thing you know I am buying a two year old male from Romania, the son of World Winner Dewmist Hope of Harlequin. His name is New Generation of Clear Passion and I call him Pearl. He is truly my heart dog. From there, I find myself in Chicago scrambling to get an expedited Passport, to fly to Majik Kennel in Finland.... where I purchased my first female, Majik Con Brio, who has grown into an elegant, beautiful girl. Kari & Liisi Lehtonen are wonderful people, and they introduced me to Patricia Nowack in Poland, and angel that she is, brought me a male pup, G. Corte Federico Szczesliwy Slon, son of Yes Sir Oligarchia and grandson of Jako’s Nordic Charm to fly home with Majik Con Brio from Finland. How extraordinary is that, to cross countries to bring me a male puppy I can fly home with! She truly went above and beyond! And what a pup! I call him Browning and he has grown into a beautiful male, I couldn’t ask for a better dog, and cannot wait to get him in the show ring this year! I also became acquainted with other prestigious breeders in Europe, and enjoy researching bloodlines and sharing in the day to day life of owning Goldens. I was blessed with an opportunity to purchase a female pup sired by Vestafjell’s Magic Elf and out of a Majik Truth or Dare daughter, Moondust Estacy of Clear Passion. Her name is Long Distance Love of Clear Passion, I call her Beretta, she turned a year old on Valentines Day. She comes from Romania, and has the same breeder as Pearl, the beautiful Andreea of Clear Passion. I owe her and Santi of Thevenet many thanks for this lovely girl. In between this, the angel Patricia Nowack offered me a pup sired by the incredible Majik Finders Keepers, and I recently imported him from Poland. His name is Infinite Hope Szczesliwy Slon, and I call him Noah. He will be a year old in July of 2018.

I find it amazing, how life can change so fast, your life is suddenly all it wasn’t for so long, when you put your faith in the Lord. The Lord has opened incredible doors for me, doors I didn’t even realize existed, for example Noah. He was a blessing I never in a million years imagined. That is why I named my kennel Fiddle In Gold Retrievers. In the song, it compares a fiddle in gold, to a soul. I could think of no other comparison for Golden Retrievers that seemed more fitting. I would like to close with saying something I believe wholeheartedly.

If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.

Most Sincerely,
