Graduation Videos
Along with Ted, we have Rudy, an 8 year old Tennessee Walker gelding, who is also graduating. Rudy and Ted went home at the end of May after 30 days of training at Munday Morning Acres.
Rudy was started and ridden but was never someone’s main trail horse. He spent majority of his life not doing much. He also spent the last 3 years just hanging out. But Rudy found his current owners and has a little girl who has wanted a horse other own. He was here to knock some cobwebs and polish him up before he goes to trails with his new family.
Happy graduation Rudy!
Ted
At the end of May, Ted went home after 30 days of training at Munday Morning Acres. Ted is a 11 year old Tennessee Walker gelding, standing around 16 hands.
His last owner was getting out of horses, and Ted found his current family who brought him here for a tune up. Ted went all over the country as a trail horse, but had been sitting in the pasture for about 3 years.
You can put anybody on this guy, from children to a husband horse. Ted is super easy going and is the perfect first horse for his new owners. Happy graduation, Ted! And we can’t wait to see everyone at the clinic today!
Who’s ready to add a cute pony to their herd?
This is Duchess! She is about 3/4 year old pony that was rescued in Clinton when she was around 8 months old. Her and the rest of the horses that were rescued with her were known as the Clinton 10. Duchess and her sister, Shadow, we’re immediately sent to a foster until they were old enough to be started. Duchess has now completed 30 days of colt starting here!
Duchess is now available at Mississippi Horses for adoption. She stands around 13.2 hands high and gets fat off air. She’s super sweet, will come up to you in a pasture, and was turned out with a 16 hand Tennessee Walker and 15 hand high quarter horse who let her boss them around.
Duchess can:
✅ stands to be groom & saddled
✅ loads in a trailer
✅ stands for the farrier
✅ walks, trots, canter on loose rein
✅ goes over obstacles
✅ ride alone or with other horses (trail or arena)
If you are interested in adopting Duchess, contact the rescue and get the adopting process started. This pony will not be there long before she finds her forever home!

We have another graduation video done! Playgun Is Peppy aka “Juanita” (also known as Spicy 🌶) is a 2.5 year old quarter horse filly whose been here for 90 days to get started under saddle. Her owner didn’t want much except for her to be started slow and easy, and just have the basics down before she moved to a show barn. We made sure to expose her everything, including our dragon, and took her off property. Juanita is smart, quick and a fun filly to have in the barn but now she is heading to Texas to be shown in cutting for her futurity years. We wish Juanita and her owners the best of luck in her career!
Happy graduation, Juanita!
Whenever we show graduation videos, it’s to highlight what the horse has accomplished over his or her stay here. We talk about the issues they came with and how we worked through it in the 30, 60, 90 or 120 days we got to have the horse at the barn.
But we don’t show a lot of us including the owners in the process. Many of our clients have come to us because they started lessons/clinics, got to know the family, then made the decision to let us help them and their horse through their issues. We don’t film that part of the process much. But with Anna and her horse, Cal, we’ve had plenty to show.
Classy Cal, aka Cal, is an upcoming six-year old Thoroughbred gelding, standing over 17 hands high. He has been here since the end of September. So he’d been in training for roughly 6 months. And most of the time, the focus wasn’t just put on him. His owner, Anna, has been there through the entire process (yes, all 6 months!). She and Cal were not clicking, couldn’t go for a simple ride without encountering a problem. So Anna called us and made it clear that she wanted to not only work with her horse, but to teach her how we do it.
We just don’t want to work with the horses, but we also want to work with the owners so they can be confident and knowledgeable to proceed with their riding journey without us. So this isn’t just Cal’s graduation video, it’s Anna’s as well!
So happy graduation to both of you! And we are excited as they both made their way to their new barn so they could go live out their riding dreams!
New colt start and available for adoption after training!
Duchess was part of the Clinton 10 that was rescued in 2021. She was barely a year old when she was rescued by Mississippi Horses, went to a foster to grow and receive TLC, and now is with us to start her under saddle training. She stands under 14 hands and would be a great kids pony! Today was her first ride. We kept it simple with guiding but she offered a small trot. No buck, spook, or rear!
It’s Duchess world and we are just living in it!

Small update on Sia
Sia has been doing much better and has even participated in a few lessons from time to time with more experienced riders. Her anxiety for the round pen has greatly improved and no longer feels like she’s wants to just run circles.
Sia needs a job whether that is in dressage or barrel racing. She will need an intermediate rider. She is sensitive and takes directions well but she’s not one that you can let sit for weeks.
Sia is a upcoming 9 year old TB mare. She was pulled from the kill pen in 2022 after having a successful race career, and almost winning $95k on the track in just over a year.

💕Happy Valentines Day from our cutest couple, Cal and Ember!💕
Georgia
Our last graduation video for 2023 goes to Georgia! Georgia is an 11 year old Quarter Horse mare that was here for 60 days. Her owner bought her a few weeks before she brought her for training, and wanted to just get any cobwebs shaken out.
Georgia has been a joy these past two months. She has been one of the most easy going horses to train. Never came out having a bad day, no spook, no buck, no problems!
Happy graduation day, Georgia!
Khaleesi
Second ride today on #hopteamkhaleesi. We still need a ground person to help us getting her moving forward but today I was able to take her around a lap at the end of the ride, with just my dad pushing her a little from behind. We were back in Terry today so the fact that she handled her first two rides in two different places is super impressive for this girl!
If you wish to support Kali, you can donate to her care via Venmo or PayPal with the note “for khaleesi”:

Skeet
We have another graduation video today! Buddys Vegas Girl “Skeet” is a 21 year old quarter horse mare who has been here for 120 days of training. Skeet was started as a 4 year old then sat for 17 years.
She got here and we were on within the first week, and she acted as if she never missed a day of work. For the first 60 days, she was being trained to be a children’s horse then the last 60 days, she was a part of my string of lesson horses.
Happy graduation Skeet!
Ajax
TCF Stilish Cat “Ajax” is a 18 month stud colt that has been here for 90 days.
Ajax was already halter broke but he came to learn the ground manners and handling it was gonna take so his owners could keep him a stallion. And Ajax has a good brain to stay a stud. He can go from bucking and kicking in his paddock, and trying to bite his pasture mate like any baby, but when you put that halter on him, he becomes an absolute gentleman. He doesn’t get pushy, doesn’t walk ahead of you on the lead rope, and has even been handled by children.
He is easy to catch in the stall and pasture. He will pick up all of his feet for the farrier, stands tied, loads and has started liberty. He will come back next year when he is old enough to be started. Ajax has been a fun change of pace to what we normally handle around here, and we can’t wait for him to come back to start him under saddle.
Happy graduation to Ajax, and hope to see him again next year!
Penelope
Penelope is a 6 year old Appaloosa mare standing around 14 hands high. She was pulled from a kill pen a few months ago, and was donated to Mississippi Horses.
Penelope has just finished 30 days of training at Munday Morning Acres. She came to be started since her past history wasn’t known, but we were on her back by day four, and you could tell she’d been ridden before. Most likely, she was just someone’s pony that they decided they didn’t wanna feed anymore and dumped her at auction. Now she’s got an amazing second chance waiting for her!
Penelope will let anyone ride her, and in part of the video, she is ridden by our new student, Amara Barefoot. She will ride through obstacles, pedestal trained, go through gates, and will trail ride alone or with other horses. The only thing Penelope needs before she is ready for adoption is miles, which the volunteers at the rescue can do.
If you are interested in Penelope, you can contact Mississippi Horses. Happy graduation, Penelope!
#hopteamkhaleesi
Kali has come out of her shell these last few months. She is much calmer. She’ll let me pet her out in the pasture without a halter and will now let me catch her without a feed bucket which don’t seem like much, but for Kali, that’s a big deal, especially since she gets turned out with my personal herd in our 12 acre pasture.
Right now, we are working on fun tricks such as pedestal work and the start of the Spanish walk. It’s more of a Spanish stomp at this point. Kali has become extremely food motivated which has helped her in gaining confidence.

Duchess
We have a new colt start going home today. Duchess is a 3 year old Dutch Warmblood filly that was here for 60 days.
Duchess will go home, starting a career in the dressage arena with her owner. When she got here, the only thing she didn’t like were things behind her and going forward. But she was brave and willing to accept the rider, and her goofy personality made her fun to work with.
We even started getting some lead changes on her last week. We were only able to get the left change but her right change will come in due time. She is now a more balanced horse and able to carry herself through the transitions without much of the riders help.
Happy graduation, Duchess!

Sia update!!
Sia is a 7 year old OTTB mare standing about 15.3 hands high. Sia had a career on the track before Mississippi Horses pulled her from the kill pen. Sia has been here almost 4 months to get her ready for a new career.
Jennifer Wilson (being videoed) qualified for the NFR in 2001 and won round 8 that year. She has ridden Sia a few times, prepping her as a barrel prospect.
Sia is light on your hands, needs very little pressure, guides easily, and is willing to please. Sia does need an intermediate rider who is willing to dedicate their time to her, as Sia is one of those horses who needs a job.
Barrels is not the only path Sia can take. She would do well as a low schooling jumper, dressage or fox hunting. We are just prepping her to go in any direction that her potential owner will want to go.
If you are interested in Sia, you have to be approved by Mississippi Horses before you can come try her. If you have any questions about Sia, feel free to shoot us a message!
Red’s graduation video
We have another graduation video today but you’ll want to read about this guy!
Red is a 14 year old Paso gelding. He was abandoned at his current owner’s home three years ago. The old owner didn’t want him so his current owners took him in and took care of him. He was a stallion until about two years ago but has been out in the pasture for years with other horses.
His owners sent him to me, wanting to see if he would make a good riding horse for their family. When you first got on Red, you couldn’t let him walk forward without him trying to blow up on you. He’s now quiet and very responsive under saddle.
He would make someone a great trail horse. Red’s owners have decided to rehome him, and have asked me to help them find him his new home.
Red has had 60 days of professional training over obstacles, desensitization and pressure/release. He is an absolute beast over obstacles and trails, and will go through anything. He’s got a sweet and loving personality. He’s an easy keeper, and has nice feet that can go barefooted . He is utd on shots, teeth and coggins.
Red is priced at low 4’s and you can message me if you have any questions about Red.
Happy Graduation, Red! And let’s find this guy his new forever home!
Pistol is a 4 year old, 13.2 hand high, QH pony gelding who is available for adoption through Rocking R Ranch and Rescue, Inc.
His adoption fee is set at $3500.
Pistol has had 60 days of training here at Munday Morning Acres. We started him under saddle back in July a couple weeks after he arrived. Nothing scares this horse; he would make someone a fantastic trail horse. He has the sweetest, most playful personality you’ll ever meet. He is ready to be everyone’s best friend.
While he’s been here, he has gone out in our 10 acre pasture with several other geldings and mares. He’s gone out in private turn out with a 4 year old warmblood who towered over him at 17+ hands. And he is currently going out with a 15 month old stud colt (the two of them are best friends). So when we say he can fit in any pasture setting, we mean it.
✅ Pistol has more woah than go
✅ Does obstacles
✅ Trailer loads
✅ Stands quietly for the farrier
✅ Can tie and tacks up tied quietly
✅ Wears a back cinch
✅ Knows the basics of liberty
✅ Easy to catch
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us! And happy graduation day to Pistol! We cannot wait to see you succeed in your forever home. And to the person(s) who adopt this neat little guy, we will offer two free lessons, as long as you have the means to travel to us. We’d love to help you get started on the right foot with him. #pistolthepalominopony
Another graduation video up!
Showtime is a 4 year old Holsteiner Warmblood gelding. He was here for 30 days to make him a little braver. This boy stands at about 17 hands tall, and had some concerns of his surroundings. They told us it took four people to get him in the trailer, so that was one other thing we had to work on.
He came to us with about 120 days total under saddle so he was still pretty green. Showtime has one of the sweetest personalities we’ve worked with. Even if he got scared, he would want you to pet him afterwards.
Happy Graduation, Showtime!
Sia update!
This girl is starting to come along. This was the first time I’ve cantered this girl under saddle, and she had more woah than go. Sia is going to make someone a fun prospect to bring along. She will make a good low schooling hunter/jumper, fox hunting, or even barrels. She will excel with an intermediate rider, or a rider who rides with a trainer who is willing to bring her along.
Sia is an off the track throughbred, and unfortunately, she has the stereotypical thoroughbred feet. So she will most likely need shoes. Our farrier is coming this week so if you would like to sponsor Sia for her next farrier visit, a full set is gonna be around $150. You can send your donation via Venmo or PayPal. If you are interested in coming to potentially adopt Sia, you can fill out an adoption applaocatipn through Mississippi Horses.
Venmo: @Betsey-Munday
PayPal: @betseymunday
Update: Thank you to Meredith Wynne Morris and Christina Mattey for donating to cover Sia’s farrier care. We still need $75 for a full set of shoes this farrier visit.
