Today is National Peanut Butter Day! 🥜 There's no better way to celebrate than by making your furry family some healthy peanut butter cookies! 🍪
Check out our scrumptious, healthy cookies made just for your furry guy!

What You'll Need:
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup unsalted, unsweetened peanut butter (dog safe or natural peanut butter is best)
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 egg

What You'll Do:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, peanut butter, applesauce, and egg.
3. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
4. Flatten the balls into cookies using a fork.
5. Bake the cookies for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
6. Allow the cookies to cool completely before giving them to your furry guy.

These cookies are a healthy treat option for your furry family, as they are made with whole grains and do not contain any added sugars or artificial ingredients. 🙌

🐾❄️ As the temperatures drop, don't forget to protect your furry friend's paws!
Salt, ice, and cold temperatures can be harsh on paws, leading to discomfort, irritation, and even poisoning.
Take simple steps to keep your pet's paws safe and healthy this winter:
* Wipe paws with a wet towel after outdoor adventures
* Apply paw wax or balm to protect against salt and ice
* Use dog boots for protection
* Trim hair around paws to prevent ice and snow accumulation

Training your furry family can be a rewarding experience for both you and your pup! January is Train Your Dog Month and we wanted to share some easy training tips.
1.
Sit: This is a basic obedience command that is relatively easy to teach. To train your pup to sit, hold a treat near their nose and move it upwards and backwards, so the dog's rear end moves down
towards the ground. As soon as the dog sits, say "sit" and give them the treat.
2.
Stay: This is useful for keeping your pup in one place, and is especially useful for safety. To train a dog to stay, have them sit or lie down, and then hold your hand up in front of you with your palm facing outwards, saying "stay.
" Gradually increase the amount of time that you ask the dog to stay for, rewarding them with a treat for
remaining in place.
3.
Come: Teaching your pup to come when called is important for their safety and for maintaining control. To train a dog to come, call their name and offer a treat as a reward when they come to you.
4.
Leave it: This command is useful for teaching your pup to resist temptation and leave things alone. To train a dog to leave it, place a treat on the ground and say "leave it.” When the dog ignores the treat,
say "good dog" and give them a treat as a reward.
Training your dog takes time and patience, but with consistent practice, most dogs can learn these basic behaviours easily and quickly!
