It is with a heavy heart and a tear in my eye that I share with ya’ll the passing of Prestige Sir Bentley Gilt, SH, CGC or better known to his friends as, Bentley. Although, Bentley was really Patrick’s dog and I remember the day I met him when he was 3 years old, and saying to Patrick, “that is a nice dog, he could do something….” Shortly, there after Prestige Gun Dogs was formed and his story along with mine and Patrick’s shifted with it. Later that year, Bentley started his career as a hunt test dog, earning his Senior Hunter title and a couple passes toward his Master Title. But, more than a performance dog, or stud dog, he was a grand companion and was an ever present fixture in our love story. I will always be grateful for the time I spent with this big red dog, how he reignited my passion for the breed and his passing leave a big hole in my life and my heart. Rest in Peace, Bentley, I know that you are in heaven picking up all the birds!

I am writing this with a broken heart and tear streaked face, GCH Copley’s Looks Good On Paper, CGCA better known to his friends as Behr, is gone. He was from the 2nd litter I ever whelped, like his mother, Weatherby, he was the “black collar” puppy in the litter. Behr was many things to many people, he was one of the nicest show dog I have ever bred, a steller stud dog, and the best snuggler. His puppies, grand puppies and great grand puppies have touch so many people’s lives and through them his legacy and love will continue.

In the past 13 years, he has been part of many different families and their stories became his story, as he crisscrossed the country. But, at his very core he was a uniquely initiative dog who had the ability to looked into your very soul. Each of you played a part in the village who shaped not only Behr’s life but mine, as well. I was fortunate enough to be with Behr, as he was born into my waiting hands a little over 13 years ago, and I was by his side when he took his last breath, today. The journey we, along with his entire village, have travelled has been uniquely profound for me. My sincere thanks to the village of people who loved and supported Behr throughout his life, each of you means more to me then I can adequately express. 💔
