Todays ride
Today’s ride was at Eminence, Mo, with Smoke, Dollar and Red. It was a very pleasant ride today out on the trail. These are all customer horses that went today. Its’s important for our horses to get out in the woods but it’s also important to be around cars, trucks, side by sides, and today we had golf carts and a back hoe working on a gravel drive. Getting out and about helps the overall experiences the horses have and they learn to lean on you and trust you to keep them safe. We try to give them as much exposure as we can while they are here with us in training. These are all Missouri Foxtrotter’s. We do have a beautiful dark grey Mft named Rubydoo that is ready for you!
Rubydoo registered Mft is ready for you. Cars, trucks, 4wheelers, kayaks, dogs, deer, you name it she handled it all. Rafter m training stables for your gaited trail horse that has been there and done that!
Ride at Eminence
Mike rode Rubydoo she is for sale. She handled 4 wheelers in the woods, cars and trucks on the roads, dogs and kayakers in the river, deer in the woods (6) in the group all in velvet! Plus 17 miles of hills and valleys. I would say she is ready for any rider to take her anywhere. I rode a customer’s horse Jazz he did great. Lori is on her wonderful mare Ellie and Ronnie on his great gelding Sonny. We found some cool spots like Whisky River outpost that had air conditioning, cold drinks and even a corral to tie up to. Cool place! Loved it all!
Happy Independence Day

Buying a horse with Mike Meizler
Horse buying is a stressing and difficult journey. Mike stresses the importance of going to meet and ride the horse in person. Do your due diligence, horses are not one horse fits all. Horses are unique beings. One rider may be able to do x,y,z with a horse and the next rider may not be able to duplicate the maneuver. Thats why it is so important for you to spend time with the owner and learn from them about the horse you are considering.
Teeth floating
We float every horse every year. Young horses may need them done more often as they are having a lot more happening in their mouth. Always remove wolf teeth as well. This video is from our veterinary visit yesterday with Southern Who ha who will be started in the next couple of days. Dr. Bailey from Eleven Point Equine in Thomasville,
MO is floating the teeth and providing a bit seat.
Kaylynn Chapman, Keili Combs and Mike discuss what the girls have learned while working with Rafter M Training Stables.
Kaylynn Chapman, Keili Combs and Mike discuss what these girls have been learning here at Rafter M Training Stables. These girls have been working to be better horsewomen. Both have accomplished much in horse world. We are proud of the work they are doing. Sissy, (Kaylynn) gives you an insight into the experience she is gaining as a colt starter.
