🌟 BREAKING NEWS 🌟

Knoel, our adorable drama king, is back and better than ever! 🎉 After being hospitalized for feeling under the weather, this little guy is now so full of life, he can’t help but SCREAM for attention. Literally.

In the middle of performing a single-organ scan to confirm a pyometra and saving a patient’s life today, Knoel decided he was the real emergency. He cried and begged for cuddles until we gave in, (because who can resist that face?!) 🥺💖 Of course, we multitasked like the pros we are – scanning with one hand and petting with the other. 🩺🐶

Feeling better looks good on you, Knoel! 💕

✨ Silver Whisper Package ✨
🐾 A head-to-toe physical examination
🐾 Full wellness panel

✨ Golden Paw Senior Package ✨
🐾 A head-to-toe physical examination
🐾 Mobility assessment
🐾 Full wellness panel
🐾 Nail trim
🐾 Two-view X-ray
💲 Value: $723 | Your Cost: $299

Why invest in these packages? Early detection of issues like kidney failure, diabetes, arthritis, and even heart disease can make a huge difference. Treatable conditions caught early mean a longer, healthier, happier life for your senior pet.

💥 Here’s a true story from Day 1 of our packages!
On January 2, 2025, one of our clients opted for the Golden Paw Senior Package (yep, that’s the $299 one!) for their seemingly healthy senior dog. During the comprehensive check-up, we discovered pyometra—a life-threatening infection of the uterus that shows few symptoms until it’s too late. Thanks to this package, we caught it early, and this pup is now on the road to recovery.

What is pyometra?
Pyometra is a serious condition where the uterus fills with infection. It can be deadly if left untreated, but early detection through wellness screenings can save your pet’s life.

Don’t wait until it’s too late—this offer expires January 31, 2025!

Holiday Reminder: Keep Pets Safe from Holiday Foods!

While it’s tempting to share holiday treats with your furry friends, many human foods can be harmful to dogs and cats. Here’s why:
• Toxic Foods: Foods like chocolate, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, and those sweetened with xylitol can be toxic and even life-threatening.
• Fatty Foods: Rich, fatty foods like turkey skin, gravy, and butter can cause pancreatitis, a painful and potentially fatal condition.
• Bones: Cooked bones can splinter and cause choking or internal injuries.
• Alcohol and Caffeine: Both are toxic to pets and can lead to severe health issues.

Stick to Their Regular Food
Pets thrive on a balanced diet designed for their needs. Sudden changes or table scraps can upset their digestive systems, leading to vomiting, diarrhea, or worse. Keeping them on their regular food ensures their health and happiness through the holidays.

Thank you for helping us keep your pets safe and healthy! Have a joyful holiday season!

With this late night post, take a dive into our world and see some of ours coolest, sweetest and unforgettable patients 🤭
Behind the scenes of every visit, every procedure, and every case, there’s one thing that remains constant: the love and care we give to every single pet that comes through our doors. 💕

🐾 We take the time to connect with them—whether it’s playing with them when they’re feeling good or sitting quietly beside them when they’re at their weakest.

🐾 We make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for, even in the most overwhelming moments.

🐾 We sleep beside them when they need comfort. We let them stretch and roam when they’re able. We give them the attention they deserve because, to us, they’re family.

No matter how challenging or stressful some days can be, we are always here for them. For those minutes, those days, or even weeks, we make sure they know they matter. ❤️

At the heart of it all, we’re here for you, for your pets, and for our community. Thank you for trusting us with their care. It’s an honor we don’t take lightly.

Together, we save lives, share love, and create hope. 🐶🐱💖

This is Zeus, the sweetest baby ever, who recently came into our care. When we met him, his fur was severely matted—a situation that arose because his loving owner, faced with personal challenges, couldn’t keep up with daily brushing. But love knows no bounds, and as soon as we suggested a medical grooming, Zeus’s owner didn’t hesitate to say yes.

Here at BVC, we stepped in to give Zeus the care he needed, and his transformation was heartwarming. His owner’s relief and gratitude reminded us of something so important: sometimes, life can make it hard for pet parents to provide the care they wish they could. And that’s okay—there’s no shame in asking for help.

For those who are able, daily brushing is one of the simplest and most effective ways to keep your pet healthy and comfortable. It prevents painful matting, reduces grooming costs, and keeps your furry friend happy. For elderly or overwhelmed pet parents, many veterinarians and grooming professionals are ready to assist—because every pet deserves care, no matter the circumstances.

Here are some tips to keep your pet’s coat healthy:
• Daily brushing helps prevent matting and keeps your pet comfortable.
• Consistent grooming reduces stress and ensures your pet stays mat-free.
• Monthly baths are great, but always detangle before and after to avoid worsening any knots.
• If brushing or grooming feels overwhelming, seek professional services. It’s better to ask for help than to let your pet suffer.

At BVC, we offer both regular grooming and medical grooming for pets in pain due to severe matting. We take our time to make the experience as gentle and stress-free as possible—because your pet’s comfort and well-being are our priority.

📣 Exciting News! Meet Dr. Jess Randall! 📣

We’re thrilled to introduce Dr. Randall, the latest addition to our veterinary team, who joined us this past June! Born and raised in Flanders, NJ, Dr. Randall has always had a love for animals of all shapes and sizes—dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, you name it!

After considering careers ranging from chef to professional soccer player, Dr. Randall found a calling in veterinary medicine. With a background from Mercy University's veterinary technician program and a DVM from Midwestern University, Dr. Randall brings experience from various hospitals and shelters, including the notable County Animal Hospital in New City.

Dr. Randall’s favorite part of the job? The variety of patients and the challenge of diagnosing unique conditions! Outside of work, you'll find Dr. Randall cheering (and sometimes sighing) for the NY Giants, enjoying corny Korean romcoms, or diving into a good book. And soon, we’ll be celebrating Dr. Randall’s upcoming marriage next month!

This past Sunday, Dr. Randall volunteered her time and surgical skills to spay and neuter pets in the Bronx community, helping low-income pet owners who could not otherwise afford these essential surgeries. We're incredibly proud to have such a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian on our team!

Join us in giving a warm welcome to Dr. Jess Randall! 🐾

🐾 Supporting the Bronx, One Pet at a Time 🐾
At Bronx Veterinary Center, we’re proud to join forces with for NYC’s first-ever Spay & Neuter-a-thon!

This November, we’re volunteering to provide FREE spay and neuter surgeries for 15 pets, tackling the urgent need for accessible, preventive care in our community. With so many families and pets in need, we believe giving back is a must—and supporting spay and neuter access is key to a healthier future for all NYC pets.

Our team of Doctors and Technicians are generously volunteering their time and skills to help the people of the Bronx and their pets in need. A heartfelt thank you to Positive Tails for championing this essential cause. Together, we’re making a real difference! 🐶❤️🐱

🎃 Meet Anais, one of our amazing veterinary assistants, getting into the Halloween spirit with Rubi and Nacho! Today, these little goblins had their physical exams as part of their prep for being spayed and neutered.

Spaying and neutering your pets is so important for their health and our community! Here’s why:
✨ Health Benefits – It can reduce the risk of certain cancers and infections, helping your pets live longer, healthier lives.
✨ Behavior Improvements – Spaying/neutering can decrease aggression and other behavior issues, making it easier to bond with your pet.
✨ Help Control Pet Overpopulation – Fewer unplanned litters means less chance of pets ending up without homes.

Let’s keep our pets happy, healthy, and safe! 💕🎃👻
