***KITTEN UPDATE***
Thank you all for the love you have shown the kittens we've been helping. They have all grown and have been such fun to watch. As of today over half have been adopted. I wanted to shout THANK YOU to all of you who looked at our post, shared it, donated or adopted. Without YOU we could not do what we do or do it so well.

It's been some time since we last posted. Personal health issues culminating in right-hand surgery mid-last year as well as a fourth hip surgery in November, the COVID pandemic, and a dramatic fall-off in volunteers, have resulted in having had a rough go of it. We are no longer intaking animals.

We are focusing on caring for and finding homes for the animals we currently still have in residence. Please share.♥

We are painfully aware of the hole this has left for stray intake and animal rehoming in The Dalles and surrounding areas. It wasn't an easy decision for us to make and we hope you will understand that.

Thank you to all of you who helped to make us successful over the past 9 years, but most importantly, helping our local and regional animals. ♥

Annual Averages:
Intake: 88
Adoptions: 75
RTO: 3
Vaccinations: 78
Spay/Neuter: 65

Fur Footed Rescue often worked with a staff of only 2 to 3 excellent volunteers at any one time, and family. I'm very proud of each and every one and the hard work put forth over the years. I am honored that you trusted us with your donations and with your animals. Thank you from the whole of my heart.

We are asking for your help in getting the lovely cats we'll be presenting here into their fur-ever homes. These cats are either long-term residents or our elders; by elders, it means they could be anywhere from 5 years old and up.

Our first beautiful girl is named Kimmy. She came to us because her owner lost their home and had no way to keep caring for her. She is the sweetest little thing, coming in at 7 years old she's only had one owner and is anxious to find a home where she can be pampered and lavished. She loves warm spots with window views, mostly quiet surroundings (no little children), and treats.

If you or anyone you know might be interested in Kimmy please contact fur footed at [email protected] or here on facebook. We are not taking phone calls at this time. 😽

If you have reached out to Fur Footed Rescue over the past few months and not received an answer I want to apologize. As many of you know, I had surgery last year on each of my hips, after years of being in pain. Unfortunately, arthritis quickly came back in the left. I’m scheduled for a total hip joint replacement next week. This has been a painful and long journey and I hope this will be the resolution. With the pain and fatigue, I’ve had considerable difficulties keeping up with the demands of Fur Footed adoptions and inquiries. I hope you’ll understand.
To all of you who have and continue to support us, we thank you with all of our hearts. Although we have put a hold on intakes, we do have adult cats that are looking for their forever families. Please share with your family, friends and coworkers who might be interested in adopting. It may take me extra days to respond but don’t give up on me, I will. ♥
