The thoroughbred incentive program (TIP) sponsors our year-end awards for TIP entries. The following riders are being recognized for their 2024 achievements.

So proud of our IEA riders! We had a fabulous season, fielding 3 teams - Futures, Upper and Adult. Last show of the season was yesterday. Our Futures team was 3rd in a tie breaker for Reserve Champion at Morningside Stables in MD, and Lindsay qualified for Regionals both on the flat and over fences!
Congrats to all our riders for their dedication, sportsmanship and support of each other!

Lindsay was a stand out today with Cupcake in the VHSA Associate Championships Short Stirrup Equitation on the Flat. Then 2nd on the flat and over fences in the Short Stirrup Hunters!

Sam's hack in the VHSA Associate Championships today was perfection. Congrats Alyssa on the win out of 26 horses! Plus ribbons in all of the Pleasure Pony classes and big improvements over fences.

Sebastian arrived at the barn about 2 years ago and it was a year before we could touch him. Now he's a love bug with everyone he meets. He also works round the clock to keep the mouse population down. And he has such beautiful eyes...

Jousting day!!! When I was a kid every summer I participated in the MOC Olympics. We would gather together then ride our ponies up Wildcat mountain with a stop at my grandmother's house for refreshments. We would camp out on the mountain and in the morning ride to Merry Oak Farm, where Nick Arundel would host a competition for us which included a pony swim across his lake. One of the competitions was jousting. He would announce us one by one as Lady or Lord, and off we would gallop to try to spear the rings dangling on hooks on the grassy lawn near his house.
Fast forward to today and jousting day is one of my favorite camp activities. We only set it up once a year for the Mounted Games camp, but lesson riders all get a chance to try it as well. If you're driving by and see some odd looking structures, they are holding the rings. And one small piece of Nick Arundel,'s legacy will live on in the many children who come through our doors.
