Meet Nemo!
Nemo is a 13 week old kitten who was brought to Just Cats by a Good Samaritan who found her in the road after she had been hit by a car. She had a badly damaged front arm, broken toes, and signs of neurologic injury. Her left front arm suffered the worst damage, and she has been recovering from a nerve injury for the past month. We initially thought she would require an amputation, but fortunately she has recently regained the use of the arm and will likely be able to keep it!

As Nemo is almost recovered, she will be looking for a home soon. She will be spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines prior to going to her new home. She has been living in a home with a dog and three adult cats and gets along great with them. The entire lily plant is toxic - stem, leaves, flowers, pollen, and even the water in a vase. Ingesting just a small amount of a leaf or flower petal, licking a few pollen grains off its fur while grooming, or drinking the water from the vase can cause a cat to develop acute kidney failure.

started in 1995 to call attention to the problem of homeless pets across the country, and to promote spay/neuter as a way to prevent pet overpopulation as well as save animals’ lives.

Pictured is Dr. Bondurant with Chika! Chika's spay incision is a little larger than normal because in addition to her spay, Dr. Bondurant removed a diseased kidney and ureter that was causing Chika to be incontinent. This procedure changed, and saved, Chika's life! It also reduced her chance of mammary cancer and eliminated the chance of pyometra and unwanted pregnancy.
