Under stimulation, overstimulation, anxiety, and boredom.

These are just four issues you might face this holiday season when taking your pup to dinner parties and celebrations.

Here are 3 tips that could help you and your dog have a stress-free time:
๐Ÿถ Avoid overstimulation by keeping your pets indoors and distracted with their own toys.
๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™‚๏ธ If possible, prepare a safe place for them. Whether a crate, kennel, their bed or just somewhere in a room, they can relax and escape the buzz of the holidays.
โŒ Ask visitors not to fuss over your pet or constantly pet them. This could factor in overstimulation and be counterproductive.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! And this is not just a joke, your pets do keep an eye out for any dropped food. This holiday season, we'd like to remind you to beware of the food dropped or left unattended.

We get it ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Sometimes, it can be frustrating when our pets seem to do anything but listen, but every pet owner needs to learn to keep their emotions in check. It plays a vital role in training.

After all, can't expect your dog to learn how to control their feelings and reactiveness when we allow frustration and impatience to get to us๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanksgiving is coming soon!

Because we know pets love being a part of the celebrations, too, here are some tips to ensure their safety on Thanksgiving:

โŒ Onions, grapes, raisins and fatty foods (like turkey) are hard for dogs to digest and could cause life-threatening issues like pancreatitis. It's best to keep the feast on the table and some tasty dog treats at hand.
๐Ÿฆƒ Keep the turkey bones and carcass and anything used to prepare the meal (like strings, bags, or any other package) in the trash or out of reach from your pet.
๐Ÿ’ Some decorative flowers and plants are toxic to pets. These include amaryllis, Babyโ€™s Breath, Sweet William, some ferns, hydrangeas, and more. You can check the ASPCA website for their list of harmful plants to dogs and cats.
๐Ÿ“ž If you think your pet may have come in contact with or eaten something they shouldn't have, please get in touch with your vet's office, or you can also call the ASPCA Poison Control Hotline (888-426-4435) or the Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661).

Have a happy and safe holiday!

When your dog is having issues or misbehaving, it's easy to forget that the problem isn't them, but rather that something is troubling them and their actions are a reflection of that.

Be a little patient while they get better, and remember: they have a problem, they're not it.

With Halloween being just a few days away, we'd like to remind you that chocolate and raisins aren't the only concern around pets. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol commonly used to sweeten candy artificially and is toxic to dogs.

To fully enjoy this Halloween, best be safe and keep the candy out of reach from your pets ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŽƒ
