Do you need THE kindest, most gentle, and well broke gelding to add to your family? Needing that special horse to carry your kiddos safely while you focus on your own horse? This is your guy!
We call him Amigo and he is an 8 year old grade quarter horse gelding. Amigo is the kind of horse who never fails to turn heads when he steps out in public. He is everyone’s favorite color, and definitely doesn’t disappoint in the conformation department either!
He is every bit of 16 hands tall and 1400 pounds. Amigo has that true quarter horse hip, all the bone you could ask for, oozes with eye appeal, and has THE kindest personality. He is the first to the gate to greet you each morning, is respectful of your space on the ground, and truly prefers your company to that of his pasture pals.
Amigo has tracked the dummy in the arena, roped and drug calves to the fire at branding time. He has gathered big pastures, meandered the trails on the weekend, pulled sick calves at the Feedyard, and wandered through town taking in the sights and sounds. While he is not likely to win the 100 yard dash, he isn’t the kind you will have to constantly pedal to keep up on. He just isn’t in a hurry to get most places….aside from the feed pan.
In our mixed herd, Amigo is mid to upper in rank, but really just wants to get along. He is current on his vaccinations, deworming, and had his teeth floated this fall, so he is all ready for his new home! He is easy to trim, loads and stands tied quietly, and would put his own halter on if he could!
Amigo would fit most any rider who has ridden and is comfortable on a big horse. He is a BIG gentle giant of a gelding. He has packed older kids and got along flawlessly, but as always, you know your kids riding ability best. ANYONE is welcome to come take him for a test drive! If broke, gentle, and kind are on your list of must haves, you owe it to yourself to take a look at Amigo.
One question people have that often goes unanswered in other ads is “if he had a vice, what would it be?” If I HAD to pick on him, I would say he toes in ever so slightly. Not enough to cause any kind of worry, because trust me, with the miles we cover up and down hills in the deep sand, we would definitely uncover any soundness issues if they were there! I have dozens of extra photos if you want to have a closer look!
He has been nothing short of a joy to own and we are proud to offer him on HorseBid to find his forever family! PrePurchase exams are more than welcome and encouraged. Come spend the day or even the weekend with us and get to know him! Bring the family, your trainer, anyone you’d like to make sure he’s the next perfect addition to your family!
Please do not hesitate to call, text, or email if you have any further questions, would like to come take him for a test ride, or would like any specific video. As with any of our horses, bring him back at any point for a free 2 week tune up in the spring if you just need the cobwebs brushed off, or if you just need a little refresher yourself! We would are ALWAYS happy to see our horses again, and we love seeing our horse families!
