Rainbow was born on 7/7/97 at 7 PM. The story goes she foaled here at Kathy’s farm during a torrential downpour. A neighborhood youngster taking riding lessons was there at the time and pointed to a distant rainbow - hence her full name of Rainbow Stormcloud. Her sire was K.C, a quarter horse, and her dam was Tasha, part Morgan and Appaloosa. She has a half-sister, Moriah, who was also born here a year later.

Kathy rode her frequently and considers her calm, physically strong and easy-going,

Like this rider, I grew up in the "one size fits all" era, and I too have watched the change, So---Thoughts on this?

"Good evening Denny. I love reading your posts. Here's a question that might spark a lovely discussion: I'm 70 years old and I don't remember there being all this concern over saddle fit until the last several years. Everyone I knew had one saddle and used it on everything they owned. Now, if we have five horses, we are expected to have five saddles that have been professionally fitted by saddle fitter. Do we just have too much money now? Or have saddles changed over the years and are no longer as versatile as they used to be? or have we been brainwashed into thinking horses are in a lot of pain they're not really in?"

One-of-a-kind, hand-tooled saddle made in Vermont that I picked up years ago at the Thetford auction. Unfortunately I don’t know the artist’s name; could be from South Royalton. On the fender look at the stallions fighting over the mares in the background. There are colorful rosettes and a cowboy cradling a newborn calf. If you look closely, you can see a rattlesnake on the lower left complete with the rattle!
For sale along with other unique saddles and bridles I’ve acquired.
