Thanks to everyone involved in this years Master National. The check in, opening ceremonies and grounds were all top notch. Everyone’s hard work is really appreciated. We got to run on some really great grounds around Boston.

Thanks to all of our clients for letting us run theses amazing dogs.

Gin completes her Hall of Fame in three consecutive events.

Congratulations to Richard Graves and his first plate on Dollar. He also took home the blue ribbon for our flight. Dollar has a bright future as he just passed the grand and the master national right after turning two years old.

Also congratulations to another one in our training group, Mike Perry and his dog Tiger for picking up his fourth plate making him a MNH4. Tiger also just passed both the grand and master national.

Tiger just picked up his 3rd Grand pass!!! Thanks to Mike Perry for trusting in me to run him. Thanks to all of the grand committee, judges, local club workers, bird techs and everyone else from behind the scenes. It’s been a really tough week with very challenging test. We had a great 5 days at the Grand. The crew was small this time but the two we took endured the challenges of the grueling test. They both had 2’s across the board and proved they deserved the illustrious Grand title. Thanks to the grand committee, all of the other workers and the judges for all your hard work. Thanks to Chris Powell and Jeff Henderson for giving us the opportunity to train these fine athletes. Two very well deserved GRHRCH’s.

After over two weeks on the road and all the way across the country, we bring the Master National to a close in Roseburg, Oregon. First off we want to thank all of our owners for giving us the opportunity to run these fine animals. We had a great crew even though some came up a little short.

Receiving plates this year were #144 Magic owned by Chris Powell. That’s his second plate. #151 Gin owned by Jeffrey Henderson. That’s her second plate. #157 Blue owned by Jeffrey Henderson. That’s Blue’s third plate and Hall of Fame. I’m so proud of how all the dogs ran even the ones that didn’t get a plate.

We have to give a special shout out to Blue on his Hall of Fame run. He’s battled injuries and showed the heart of a true champion.

We lost a good dog today.

HRCH UH Twin Rivers Play That Thang SH~ “Piper”
She was with us for almost 15 years, and gave us a lifetime full of retrieves. She was a sweet soul who loved people and ducks. She also produced some great litters. One of her pups, Magic, who is owned by Chris Powell, is running the Grand with Thad this week in Natchez. She will be missed.

Rest In Peace my friend. You were more than just a dog. You were a part of our family and everyone loved you. You will truly be missed. We are so thankful for the time we got to spend with you here on earth.

It’s been a tough day knowing you won’t be here anymore. I’m going miss you picking up ducks for me this weekend at the hunt test.

Everyone give your fur babies an extra hug. They just don’t stay around long enough.

Great weekend at Black Warrior Retriever Club. Team TRK picked up 6/7 Master passes. Blue went 2/2 and is now qualified for the National. R***r went 2/2. Peewee 1/2. Turbo 1/1. 2019 Master National came to a close today. We would like to thank all the committee members, judges and everyone that helped make this event a success. Also a special thanks to all of the owners of these fine animals. We Qualified 3 out of 4 this year. Bully picked her 5th plate. R***r picked up his 2nd plate. Blue picked up his 2nd plate. Turbo made it to the 6th series but did not complete it.

As the Grand comes to a close it’s been an emotional roller coaster as normal. Peewee and Sprig went out after the second series. Smokey pointed out after the fourth. Bully went out in the Upland. Ole Blue pulled it out and collected his third pass.

People ask why we run these events. It’s for the love of the dogs. I love to see them do well on the test. The best thing I like is sitting in the holding waiting to run these dogs. Peewee will try get in your lap or give you a big kiss. Sprig is just intense and can’t wait to get to the line. He likes a scratch on the ears. Smokey will look up at you and put his paw in your lap. Bully just looks up at you with her sad eyes and wags her tail when you acknowledge her. Blue is just laid back and waits patiently with the occasional look up at you for your approval. What a special group of dogs pass or not.

We kicked off the HRC International Grand in Wisconsin today. This is Smokey who had the honors of running first this morning. He did a great job. All in all we had a good day. All five dogs were running completed the first series and are moving on to the second tomorrow.
