Great weekend at Appalachian Futurity and Sale!! Thank you Tammy N Nelson Hearn for hosting. Everything went smooth and the food was amazing!! Fifty Grande was able to pull off a class win and Grand Champion title. Firebug placed an amazing 3rd and my newest beauty Step’N on Hearts was in the money at 4th but probably the most commented on heifer out of my trailer. Jeramie James thanks again for letting me add her to my group. Ryan Culpepper thank you for doing the kids judging…. Mackenzie was trying to be cool but she was thrilled to win the very large trophy and has been carrying it around since! Oh and somehow my truck got tagged so people beware of a odd looking G sticker on their trucks 🤣 Dan Grove

I watched this little girl born last night about 10pm and when I went to check on her this morning she wasn’t using her leg and it was VERY obvious broke. Thank goodness for a great vet and Andrew Shagoury. This little gal is far from out of the woods since the break did go through the skin but she is in a cast in the barn with her doting mamma Ladybug, nursing again. Thank you again Andrew for coming and helping me catch her and keep her calm on her first truck ride!!

Double Your Luck got pulled out of the pasture and is getting ready for her turn in the ring at the Cherry Blossom as lot 18! She is CONFIRMED bred to KDK Wildfire and her last years calf from the same pairing is a speckled up, built right and clean girl. She will be getting a bath and a trim tomorrow. DNA parent verified, Johnes and BVD negative as well. She is sweet natured and easy going to work with. I was able to love on her calf just a few hours after it was born no problem. She is going to be missed but she will make a WOW statement in her new owners pasture! Don’t let this one get away!

A few days ago the big guy, DCR Romans Jest got an updated measurement and he is in the 80” club just after turning 3 years old. Even as exciting as that he got a hip height measurement of 62”!!!!! David W Henry even used a level to make sure it was exact. He is definitely one of the tallest bulls out there and he passes his height on to all his calves. He is currently at DR Henry Ranch breeding some exciting females and being spoiled by Retta Sims Henry.
