Yesterday was National Puppy Day! 🐶💕 Our paw-some volunteer, Mallory, headed out to our puppy playgroup to see what our young pups had to say about this special holiday! 🎤We know it’s easy to fall in love with a puppy’s silly antics, floppy ears, and adorable round tummies, but behind every cute face is a reminder of why this day matters. Pet overpopulation is a REAL issue and it’s worse than you may realize. Shelters across the country are bursting at the seams with puppies, dogs, and pets of all ages waiting to find loving homes. Shelters and rescues simply cannot keep up and sadly, many healthy, loving, deserving pets all over the US lose their lives due to capacity limitations and lack of resources. Our four legged best friends deserve better and us humans are the ONLY solution! What can YOU do to help the pet overpopulation crisis? Hi friends, it’s me, Monty! 😻
I just wanted to pop on here to thank all of you who helped make my surgery happen. Thanks to your kindness, my entropion surgery is done, and wow—what a difference it has made!
Now that my eyes aren’t irritated all the time, I can finally see the world clearly, and let me tell you, it’s absolutely beautiful! I never realized how green the trees are or how much fun it is to watch the staff zoom around the shelter. It’s like a whole new world has opened up for me. ✨
I’m doing great in my recovery, even though they’re making wear this silly cone for a few more days (which is seriously impeding on my head rubs). But come Monday, it’s coming off (thank goodness!) and my head and ears will be ready for all the scritchins.
Thank you again for helping me feel better and see better. You’ve made my life so much brighter, and I’m so grateful for every single one of you who helped me get one step closer to my forever home. Sending lots of purrs and head boops your way! 💛

A quick update on Tractor! 🚜🐾 He spent yesterday at the vet getting a good grooming, which ended up being a full shave down due to his extensive matting; and he got a full assessment, giving us some answers on some bumps and lumps we found under his thick, matted coat. We left with a weight-loss and diet plan, and we could tell Tractor was already feeling SO much better. The best part? We found a perfect foster to support him through his recovery. 🙏🏼 Thank you to everyone who has reached with foster inquiries and to those who sent healing prayers for this sweet boy. We’re happy to see him back on track towards finding himself in good health and in a loving, furever home ❤️

Bones is one of the many sweet, loving pups we have in care waiting to find a furever home. He came to TH back in June as a transport from a nearby shelter. Since his arrival, he’s been treated for heartworm disease, has learned to love his time in playgroups, and he’s shown us what a wonderful dog he is!
