We’ve told you about the 24 Chihuahuas that TRACS helped rescue from a terrible hoarding situation. Many of you heard our plea for help in either fostering or adopting these shy and/or scared pups.
Are there any of you out there (and please share this info) who can foster one or more of the remaining Chihuahuas? Of course, adoption would be the best solution, but we need to get them into loving homes ASAP, even if it’s a temporary home. They need to experience what it’s like to live with a loving family. They need to experience what it is to have love.
If you foster, TRACS will cover food & other needs.

.Celebrating an adoption success story with our beloved Hank (formerly Eric)! When we brought Hank home from TRACS, we knew he would need time to adjust. He had lived in a shelter his whole life (about a year).
They talk about the 3-3-3 rule for shelter dogs, and it has truly captured our journey together.
In the first 3 days, Hank was cautious, exploring his new home with those curious, watchful eyes. He was getting used to us, our routines, and all the new smells, sounds, and sights around him. It was a big change for him, and we were careful to give him his space and a whole lot of gentle encouragement.
After 3 weeks, Hank began to blossom. He started following us around the house, showing his playful side, and even claiming his favorite spot on the couch! We saw him relax and lean into being part of the family, trusting us more and more each day. Those little wins – like the first time he wagged his tail at dinnertime or plopped down at our feet – felt like big milestones.
Now, 3 months in, Hank has become comfortable, confident, and so loving. He has his routines down, his favorite toys, and that spark in his eye that tells us he’s happy to be here. It’s amazing to see how much love and resilience he has, even after everything he’s been through.
If you’re thinking about adopting, be patient and trust the process. The journey may have its challenges, but seeing Hank finally feel safe, loved, and truly at home has been one of the most rewarding experiences we could ever ask for. Welcome home, Hank – you’re family now, and we love you more than words can say!”

Update 🙂: thank you to all who contacted us about fostering Petey. He has found a foster home. But we have lots of chihuahuas and other dogs that need fostering and we appreciate any help with even temporary homes.

PETEY, a tiny TRACS Chihuahua senior dog, desperately needs a foster home. Petey is only 5 pounds, neutered and has had dental care. His knees are a little wobbly but he does fine.
Petey was recently adopted but the person’s other dog is attacking him to the point of drawing blood. Obviously he isn't safe there, especially with being such a little tyke.
We need a foster, or adopter, ASAP, please! Can you please share with other dog lovers?
