🐾 Meet the D Puppies! 🐾
These four adorable pups just arrived at TRACS from Texas, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them! At only 4 months old and about 16 pounds each, they’re a playful, lovable bunch who are thriving together.
Believed to be a mix of retriever and possibly boxer or shepherd, these pups might have a boxer parent in the mix! When fully grown, they’ll likely weigh around 50-60 pounds. They’re all very friendly with dogs and people, making them wonderful companions for families or individuals ready for some puppy love and adventure.

TRACS kitties Dillon and Dandie are 9 months old now and still at one of our foster homes. Their foster says they are ready to have some water play and loving at YOUR home!
We'd sure love to find a home for them. They don't have to be adopted together, but they've been together for all their lives and it’s so much more fun to have at least 2 cats!😻😻

Not a very exciting clip but just showing how relaxed Kiki, who we had discovered was actually over 15 years old, is being a free roaming cat in the cat room. She ate next to me as I washed dishes. She wanders around past the other cats in their cat condos and doesn’t react to them. However, in an attempted adoption, Kiki ended being stressed and not wanting to be with another cat.
She is donation of choice to the right home. No other cats, probably not young kids, and must be indoors only. If you have a quiet home and meet these requirements, could you adopt her and let her live out her remaining years in peace?
Applications are online, or else contact our office to set up a time to meet Kiki.

TRACS dog BUBBLES sure would like to have her own home. She had been in foster care for some time with her puppy, but her pup was adopted. Bubbles is about 30-35 pounds, and probably should not be in a home with cats.
Here are just some reminders to help a scared shelter dog adjust to new environments and people:
Building Trust and Comfort
1. Give Space and Time
Let the dog explore at their own pace. Avoid forcing interactions or overwhelming them.
2. Set Up a Safe Space
Create a cozy, quiet area with a comfy bed or crate where the dog can retreat when they feel nervous.
3. Stick to a Routine
Consistency in feeding, walks, and playtime helps reduce anxiety and builds predictability.
Positive Reinforcement
4. Reward Calm Behavior
Use treats, gentle praise, or toys to reward the dog when they show calm or curious behavior.
5. Use High-Value Treats
Offer irresistible treats like chicken or cheese to associate new experiences with positive feelings.
Slow Socialization
6. Introduce New People Gradually
Start with calm, quiet people who can sit at the dog’s level and avoid direct eye contact.
7. Control the Environment
Limit exposure to busy, noisy areas until the dog feels more comfortable.
8. Read Body Language
Learn the dog’s stress signals (e.g., lip licking, yawning, tail tucked) and adjust the situation accordingly.
Calming Techniques
9. Use Calming Aids
Products like calming collars, sprays, or diffusers with pheromones can help.
10. Try Soothing Activities
Gentle walks, puzzle toys, or slow, soft petting (if they’re comfortable) can provide a distraction and relaxation.
Build Confidence
11. Engage in Training
Simple, positive reinforcement-based training builds trust and helps the dog feel secure.
12. Offer Novel Experiences
Slowly introduce safe, low-stress activities like sniffing games to build their curiosity.
Seek Professional Help
13. Consult a Trainer or Behaviorist
If fearfulness persists, a professional can design a customized p

MEET ROLLO! One of our newest TRACS dogs to be available for adoption.
We think he is an Aussie/Doodle mix with beautiful blue eyes. Rollo is super sweet and a little shy. He rolls onto his back when meeting new people for belly rubs. Rollo has a medium energy level and loves to play. Our records have marked ‘unknown’ for cats and ‘’yes’ for kids. He has probably only seen our outside community cats who pretty much could care less for all of the dogs around.
Do you want a chance to adopt this super cute pup? He is 24 weeks old and about 15 pounds.🐾

Want to meet another great TRACS pup? Introducing 📣📣 RAMBO🥁🥁🥁🥁
(Post has 3 slides - the last one you'll hear Del saying how great he does on a leash.)
Rambo has lots of love to share even with the rough start he had with life - he was rescued by our contact on the reservation when she saw him being picked on by other dogs. He is eager to please and is smart as he has already learned the routines here at the shelter. Staff say he is also cuddly and can sense when it's time to settle down. He is very playful and really loves his time out in the play yards with friends. He is still a puppy so is submissive to other dogs and knows the cues when to back off. He is curious with cats but no signs of aggression towards them. Rambo is a great boy and will make a fantastic addition to an active family.
He sounds like a great one for your family to meet. Think of having a great dog like Rambo with you for years!

👋Meet Wafer, with a whole lot of personality packed into her 14-pound frame! 🐶This wire-haired terrier (possibly with a touch of schnauzer) is about 2 to 3 years old, and while she’s house-trained and well-mannered indoors, she hasn’t quite realized she’s no longer a puppy. She’s all about fun, play, and activities that keep her clever mind busy—think puzzle toys and interactive games!
🚶➡️🐕 Wafer adores her walks and is good on a leash, but she’ll need a securely fenced yard (at least 6 feet tall) for safe outdoor playtime (she’s quite a little jumper). 🦘She’s not a fan of cats and will give chase if they run, and while she does well with most dogs, her outgoing personality means introductions should be done carefully and on neutral ground.
When it comes to people, Wafer knows what she likes—and who she likes! If you’re one of her chosen humans, you’ll get all her love, cuddles, and attention. But don’t take it personally if she gives you the cold shoulder; Wafer’s selective nature is just part of her charm.
If you’re an active family or individual (without any cats) looking for a smart, playful, and loving companion, Wafer could be your perfect match. Apply today to meet this one-of-a-kind little girl!

“Wanted to give you an update on Cotton, now Scooter. We could never have predicted what a good boy he would be. We’ve adopted many cats from shelters but shamefully never a pup. That will forever be changed. We love Scooter so much, just like his sister Roo does ( and she’s very picky). He is nice to all humans and loves kitty’s too. Checked off all of our boxes. He’s on vacation with us now, couldn’t imagine life without him now. 💕.”
It looks like Scooter will make lots of people smile from now on! Thanks for giving him a joyful life!

TRACS DOG WANTS YOU‼️
😟Fluffy is a dog with a great big heart who needs a great big new start. He is a young guy of about 1 year of age and about 45 pounds. He has been beaten by his owner but shows no signs of aggression or any other form of negative behavior. Yes a big heart! he does have one eye that is slightly damaged by impact with his human's wooden stick. But it is coming along nicely. This boy will come neutered and microchippped and fully vaccinated. He did live with other dogs and did well with them. And he is now leash trained too! 😊
This fluffy guy definitely needs a loving home who will shower him with love and praise, and will play ball with him, too!🎾
