5 years ago Shye came to America as a 10 week old puppy eager to see the world. She was my first import, my first HOT from puppy breeding female and the dog who showed me the true power of food / toy drive along with being one of the easiest dogs I’ve ever trained. Shye needed no prong, e collar or really anything but food & toys. She has been an incredibly biddable dog for obedience and extremely sharp in her positions m naturally. She has so far also thrown her “cheat codes” into her pups as all her puppy owners talk about just how “easy” they are to own & train, without loosing drive & power. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to get a puppy from one of Xanuk last set of litters. He passed away this year at the age of 14 and lived a life full of IGP. Over 60 IGP titles, 10 FCI/WUSV world championship participations, a dozen other events and he was true Schutzhund dog. Shye reminds me so much of the temperament of Xanuk, he was also Aflred companion & dog he took everywhere without a worry. This temperament, even at that high of a level, is something I value so much in my program - balanced, powerful, driven, stable & livable. He is one of my all time favorite European dogs. This is my training, this is all us. 💚 This video speaks volumes to our relationship. No audio as I want the world to see how quiet, controlled & happy he is in a brand new field, no e collar, off leash, soccer balls being kicked in the distance and other dogs nearby. One thing I love to teach my dogs is the power of play. The ball is not “yours”, it’s ours. The ball is a gateway to play, the ball is so much fun, we have so much fun together. Not every dog is trained the same way or raised to have the same foundation. No way Nitro a year ago would be doing this, he looked at the ball as “his” and work as a means to get what’s “his”. Everyone has their own style in training. Over the past year I’ve been showing him the ball is ours, the game is ours and let’s play together with it. Meekha (my malinois) does this EXACT same play style. If you ever get the pleasure to watch Nitro & I work, it makes your heart smile as you can see the drive we both have inside us to succeed and the relationship stronger and stronger each day. We will go far, 2025 better be ready. 💯

Happy 11th birthday to the Queen WoodWolf herself 👑 Mia walked into my life a little over 5 years ago and I knew she was HOME. ❤️ To know myself in person - is to also know Mia. If you have ever been a dog training client of mine or gotten a puppy from me, 9/10 you have met Mia & absolutely adore her. She is the kindest soul I’ve ever known. The only dog I’ve ever owned that I have 100% control over her anywhere, around anything, bare neck, anytime - with never any e collar or prong training. Her recall over the years has become absolutely flawless - which takes A LOT for me to say about a dog - and her over pouring loyalty to me is endless. I primarily use her for any and all reactive / dog aggression cases I work with because she can be off leash (no collars of any kind on) and a dog 5 ft away lung snarling and she is completely calm, controlled & neutral - all naturally. She LOVES to play with puppies and forever is “Grandma Mia” - even though none of the pups I’ve had in the last few years have even been related to her LOL - she takes them in as her own. She is such a special dog. We have even started getting into therapy dog work with her, because she truly touches the soul to every human she meets. Thank you Mia for being my best girl. Happy 8th birthday to the dog who changed my whole entire life. We are proof that you don’t have to come from money, you can be a broke @$$ college kid with no background in dogs and in 8 years touch thousands if not millions of people through just one dog. One dog. One dog that changed my whole entire world. One dog who got me to where I am today and opened dozens of doors of new beginnings that are things people only dream about. One dog I never gave up on. From 8 years ago knowing *nothing* about dogs, breeding, training … to standing where I am today as a head trainer of a 20+ year dog training company (@qk9c), K9 contracted handler, GSD breeder and titled dogs in a dozen different avenues… it took one dog… to radically change my whole entire future and many others. I never gave up, even when it wasn’t easy, nothing has ever been handed to me, I’ve worked 7 years to be where I am and Kohnen never gave up on me. “Your first dog will truly teach you the most in this dog world. Do everything you can with him” my first mentor told me and I do feel we did just that.
