✨What a weekend!!!!! ✨

This weekend I stepped on the trial with not one, two… but 4 dogs and they all gave it their all 🩷

Meekha (my HOT malinois) came home with 1st place in obedience (against 7) & Nitro (Bred By) earned 2nd place!!

Mia, Meekha, Tox & Nitro all earned their PPD-OB title 🫶

It was a beyond special weekend getting to share the field with dogs who mean so much to myself as a trainer & program.

Mia in a few months will be 12 years old and she was just so happy to be out there, not the fastest dog on the field but gave it all she got.
Tox was feeling some type a way towards the judge, but he kept his cool 🤣😮‍💨
Nitro & Meekha were tried and true, so blessed to be able to handle such strong, loving and fun dogs!!

Thankful to everyone apart of WoodWolf who makes it all possible. 🫶
Huge congrats to everyone who trialed in all levels and I can’t wait to see you all at the next trial!

Huge thank you to Mark Leamer & the whole Practical Protection Dog group for hosting & running smooth and welcoming trial!

Hard to believe Tyme is over 2 now. Not a day goes by I am not thankful for her sweet self in our lives.
The dog who got me through one of the hardest times in my life, but that I didn’t know I needed.
The dog who I let go briefly, just to come right back as destiny wanted us together.
We have a “bigger than us” ahead, I have no clue what, but I know in my soul there is a purpose one day we will see and I’ll be still and listen the entire way. 🙏
I am so pleased with the dog you have matured to be. 🫶✨

What a weekend!! 🫶✨

UKC show I entered Tox, Qwalla & Gerrie!
Jefferson, GA

Tox was in the Champion class since he already has his CH, he was up against some really nice show lines and on show two today, he actually placed over 2 show lines and won Reserve Champion! He was beat out by a GORGEOUS American show line who shows in AKC.
It was incredible to see my solid black, long coat working line come runner up next to an AMSL.
Tox is gorgeous, from his movement to his very European masculine features, he just gives me chills with how lovely he is built.

Following that, we decided to do 2 obedience trials to finish out his PN obedience title and he blew me away. He got a 200/200 BOTH trials (back to back even) and 1st place both trials over 7 dogs AND a total dog award for show two / trial two.

UKC CH, SG Amwolf’s Nefarious Nectar CGC, PN

For a dog who never trains indoors and only ever has seen his routine the last time we trialed last year for it, he is just such a great dog. I’ll upload the video of our routine on a reel. The judge loved him and had nothing but compliments for us and our performance!

This was Qwalla’s first show ever and she got two 2 place ribbons & two 3rd place ribbons, imo because she was up against a few gorgeous show lines and much bigger females. Qwalla is my pocket rocket dog / forever puppy. She is one of the SWEETEST dogs to walk this world all in a tiny body. However, she is a working girl & was a rock star in the ring. I really couldn’t have asked her to be more perfect for me, regardless she makes up for it in temperament and heart. 🩵

Gerrie is almost 7 weeks postpartum and did amazing this weekend getting 20 more points towards her champion title. She won four 1st in class, but was beat out by her daughter (lol) or nice show lines every show for best female. None the less she was so happy to be there and had an absolute blast.

Her and Qwalla were so friendly, loving, confident, biddable & I am so thankful to be their owner!
The exact temperament I love to see in my girls.
ALL four judges spoke nothing but praises about their character and how they wish more GSDs were like it. 🫶

The dog who makes you tear up after everytime you do do a show or trial together.

The dog that you always think about “one day this will be our last show or trial together”.

The dog who pushed you beyond measure to be the best trainer / handler you could have imagined being.

The dog you emotionally connect with so deeply it transcends this world and leaps into another.

Some people might not ever get a dog like this, but God has blessed me with two. Two dogs who EVERY literally every trial or show - pass or no pass - I get in the car and tear up with such full emotion of how deeply I connected to them, how my hearts walk in one beat and how thankful I am to have raised two extremely powerful creatures who have become intertwined in my soul.

Those two dogs are Meekha (my Malinois) & Tox.

I love all my dogs, but in different ways.
I value them for who they are and I do connect with them all, but the hard work I have put in, the raw power they possess just “there” and the limitless devotion to myself & to the work is remarkable in them both.

These two dogs don’t just live to work, they love to work WITH me. I am their person and they would choose me any day over anyone, we are a team.

It really is such a hard thing to explain, but when you connect on this level, emotionally it just overwhelms my soul everytime thinking this could one day be the last and how magical the feeling is in that moment.
Thinking “how on earth have I been blessed with TWO dogs so similar and so wrapped into my spirit.”
Both dogs who drive me insane, but both dogs I can’t keep from driving home crying about how proud I am to be their owner & walk this life by their side.

If you ever get to own a dog like this, they aren’t heart dogs, they are the ones who attach to the soul of you, who feed the drive you have and keep your fire burning.

To My most toxic boy, the baby Bee, the nefarious nectar, the dark prince and my sweetest baby dog.

I love you, to infinity.✨

Today we “won” nothing in the world’s eyes, but we won EVERYTHING in mine.

🕊️ Rest in Peace to the Beast of the East 🕊️

August 11th, 2017 - Feb 7th, 2025

VD Aaron Guardian of Moravia BH, ZM, StPr 1, ZVV 1

The most magnificent creature to walk this earth, you will be missed by so many.

When Aaron arrived he was how I anticipated. Angry & confused.
He loved his owners in the czech and them him, but now it was the start of something new. It took him a few days of hot dogs for him to realize I was “home” and then he started to open up more and more.
He became like a big puppy to myself and never barked / growled and was eager to play ball and hangout.
He was so great off leash and had a crazy presence to him.
During his entire stay here, NOT ONE of my other males challenged or even approached him and he never once barked or was anything but stoic to them, a truly confident male, he knew he was top dog and never had to show it.

A few months went by and we were doing really well, but he was having a difficult time breeding (tieing).
He had had over 20 litters in the czech & one a few months before he arrived to me, so I wasn’t expecting him to not be able to tie. It was frustrating as his prior home was just as shocked and we tried with 3 different females with slip ties only, 1 got pregnant but reabsorbed, 2 did not get pregnant.

So I decided to let Aaron take a few months just hanging out & settling in more.
- I was thinking maybe he just wasn’t as comfortable here still and just needed time.

As months went by, he progressively started becoming a bit more stand off to new people coming over to the house, within the last 1-2 months very reactive to Klark playing outside and just starting acting off behaviorally.
He also was slowly dropping weight so I added some supplements and upped the amount (he had no worms ect).

By mid January he was noticeably thin (to me as I became the only person who could interact with him) and then out of no where, after we had snow here, his testicles got swollen.
We started him on antibiotics for 2 weeks at our vets recommendation to see if I saw any change.
After 2 weeks I saw 0 change and then made an appointment to get him seen.

Let me remind you, he had slowly become more and more stand off to people touching his body so just “taking him to the vet” wasn’t something we wanted to do unless we felt it was medical necessary.
Per our vets recommendation too, given how aggressive he had become.

*Let me also add Aaron never bit anyone or even came close, as I was very smart about how I handled him.
But with someone else it probably would have been a different story.
I always handled him fairly, with love and with understanding of him and I never had a toe to toe or any conflict, I saw it was a potential - but I never crossed that line with him.

But, I was seeing noticeable change of behavior, his weight had been slowly been dropping with no recovery no matter how much he was eating (8 cups a day when the other dogs eat 3 and are working more than he was), so I knew I needed to take him in after trying all stops.

We loaded him up and took him into the vet.
We had to fully sedate him for my vet just to be able to examine him on what was going on. (Which was an experience as he was NOT wanting to be sedated. Even in his last moment he was beyond strong.)

I sat on the floor with him as our vet started at his testicles with an ultrasound machine.
One testicle was normal and the other had a pretty significantly sized tumor.

She continued into the abdomen and the screen lit up with white splotches EVERYWHERE. EVERY organ. Every area.

Cancer.
Everywhere.

Cancer, I have never had a dog with cancer and couldn’t believe my eyes seeing it and not only seeing it, but knowing what was next.
My hands were shaking, my eyes filling with tears as I locked eyes with my vet when she asked what I wanted to do.

To me, Aaron was a king and didn’t want anyone to see him in pain.
He was so stoic, loving (to me) and I knew what he wanted was to not wake up into a body that was failing him, but wake up on the other side pain free running with his toy.
My vet absolutely agreed and was thankful I made this choice as he’s not a dog who I believe would do well with any type of chemo, behaviorally.

I kissed his face, told him I’m so sorry we didn’t have more time, more toys, more treats, more water hose playing.
I told him I would do the most honorable thing for him and let him leave this world pain free and surrounded by love.

The hardest part about owning dogs is that they die.
We want more time and we feel so robbed when it’s taken and ends.

I was flooded with sorrow, longing for 5 more minutes, but thankful that I got the last 6 months by his side.
Thankful I got to know and love a creature as strong as him.
Thankful for him and who he was.

*No, we did not get any frozen off him or any litters.
I think that’s honestly for the best and he enjoyed every second by my side living as stress free, happy and loved the last few months and not dying alone or from pain. He passed around a group of people who loved him.

My prayer when I got Aaron was he would one day love me as much as I loved him, I think that day, he told me.
There was so much sorrow, but an overwhelming peace waved over my soul that he was saying “thank you and I always loved you too” as I laid over him with my tears falling into his fur.

I knew in my soul something was not right, but we always hope for the best.
A neuter and he can live life happy you know? I would have been THRILLED to just neuter him and let him live his days here loved.
I told my vet, my dad (who went with me to the vet), all my friends just that.
But that wasn’t reality and he was showing me in his own ways it was time and I listened.

*****Disclaimer******
Let me also say his prior home is NOT at fault in ANY WAY.
They did NOT know.
LET ME say that again -They did NOT know.
They thought they were selling me a part of their home & life, a dog to start a legacy here like he did in the Czech.
*I was NOT sold a sick dog or a dog with breeding issues. I know how it “looks” but they are two of the best people I’ve come to love & care for.
We have FaceTimed dozens of times and ever while Aaron was in the middle of breeding to figure it out together what was going on. They have been with me EVERY STEP during this.
*It was a VERY unfortunate circumstance, I didn’t ask for any “money back” or care about that and would NEVER ask for that given how incredible they have been since even before he arrived here. I fully understand buying ANY living creature is always a risk. No matter who or where from or how healthy.
*BUT if anyone has ANY negative words about his prior home due to this situation or “speculations” you can leave those thoughts in a trash can, as the garbage is where they belong.
*I would buy again from them 100 times again.

Rest easy Aarona, you were truly one of the strongest dogs I’ve ever known and loved SO much by BOTH your homes.
Thank you Marcel & Martina Marečková for all the support, you both will forever be apart of our family. 🙏

Introducing a litter I’ve been waiting years and years to have 🥹

Our Luna New Year Litter 🌙

Both dogs I handler, owner, raised, trained & titled from puppies and wanted to see what they would produce outside of each other before breeding to each other.
I have been extremely pleased with both of their past litters to other dogs, so it felt like the right choice, time and the stars truly aligned. 🥹

8 gorgeous puppies were born late Monday night ✨
4 boys:
Cosmo - solid black male
Ciro - sable male
Apollo - sable male
Pluto - solid black male

4 girls:
Luna - sable female
Stella - sable female
Vega - sable female
Laika - black female

Shye is a dream of a dog and especially a mama dog.
She could have done her whole whelp alone, but was so happy I was there to give her snuggles & snacks.
She takes to her pups instantly, never is too rough, has plenty of milk and keeps them all incredibly clean.
She is quiet, calm, maternal and lets my family come into the room to give her treats and see her pups with 0 issues.
Even if other dogs walk into the room (Kohnen is the only one who is actually curious) or bark / run outside playing by her window, she doesn’t even fletch, just keeps her puppies warm / clean / fed and remains calm & self assured.
She is my type of female through and through.👏

At this time, the litter is Fully Reserved. 🙏

A huge brag post with two Kohnen babies over the weekend at the River Region Kennel Club UKC Show in AL!

Kohnen x Hestia (Outside breeding with Misty Maxwell ) son owned, handled & trained by Alyssa Cox at 7 months old won in conformation best male both shows against adult competition & then went into Rally obedience and had a beautiful performance with 2/3 legs toward their RO1 total! This team also eared two total dog awards for winning in both conformation against competition & receiving the passing scores in performance!
I couldn’t be more proud to know this team and their bright future. Helios is also her service dog in training.

Up Next:

A 7 month old puppy from Kohnen / Gerrie (our Y litter), YoYo, owned, handled & trained by Emily Lewis.
They recieved 2 best in class placements, all 3/3 of their Rally obedience legs for their URO1 title, high in trial and a total dog award!!
I am seriously so blown away by them and can’t wait to see them soon show as this is a team to watch out for!! Huge. Huge. Huge. Congrats!!

Kohnen many years ago got his URO3 (Rally 3 in UKC with multiple high in trial awards), CH & several total dog awards.

It is incredible seeing his kids take great parts of both females and him add to that to get these lovely conformation & performance pups!!

HUGE congrats to these owner handlers and I can’t wait to share all you both continue to achieve!!!

I am so blessed to be able to raise my first child with my senior dogs. 🙏
There is something so special about watching your dogs grow old and then watching your child fall in love with them just as much as you have.
Sometimes I take it for granted, I see young dogs passing away and it literally emotionally pains me, makes me hug my old dogs and thankful for all these days we have gotten together.
Life is so short. Cherish every single moment.
A dog might be part of your life, but to them you are their whole life. 🖤❄️

We actually got inches of inches!! It’s pretty much all gone now, but we absolutely loved the short lived event! This is the most snow in easily 10+ years we have had here. Prepare yourself for so many snow pics I have taken 🥹🤣

01/20/2025

*What does “SV approved” mean for long or stock coat dogs?*
Currently in the U.S., it means the dog meets the SV (German) coat type guidelines: bred from two registered long coats or two registered stock coats, as well as the pedigree back to 2010 the same.

*Current*
The SV does not allow registered long coat x stock coat offspring to be shown in USCA/SV shows, receive breed surveys, or join a world IGP team.
Long coats were allowed for registration in Europe after 2010, before that, they were often altered in grooming and misrepresented as stock coats.

(There is talk of this rule in USA not being in “affect” until 2028… but I do not believe it as last year there were several restrictions on dogs that happened showing otherwise.)

*Does this affect you?*
For most, no!
If you do protection work, PSA, WDA, AKC, UKC, IGP at regional/national levels, or other sports, it won’t ever affect you.
However, if you want to breed dogs eligible for USCA/SV shows or world IGP teams, your dog’s parents/pedigree must be registered long x long and / or registered stock x stock for the past 14 years.

*Do I agree with this rule?*
No. Not. At. All.
Without crossing long x stock coats, genetics will bottleneck. Stock coats will become shorter, and the focus will shift from quality to coat type.

*My Program*
All my current stud dogs are SV approved.
Over the past 5 years, I’ve had to imported long x long & stock x stock (LC carrier) litters to keep genetic diversity and prevent bottlenecking.

*Will I continue to produce long coat x stock coat puppies?*
ABSOLUTELY.
Most of my homes won’t be showing in SV events or making world IGP teams, and I want to create loyal, intelligent, and beautiful GSDs.
But I also plan to do many SV approved coat type litters as well, since most of my current dogs are.

*Should you get a puppy from an ethical breeder with long x stock pairings?*
If those accolades listed aren’t your main priority, then YES, absolutely! 🩷
