We had a very nice week in Zenda Kansas! Thank you to the club for putting together a great event once again.

It was a pretty easy weekend overall as we only ran 1-2 dogs in the open but alot of up and coming puppies!

Congratulations to Chris Wilkinson and FC AFC FTCH Bad Habit's Beyblade Let it Rip on their win this weekend! This is Rip's 9th career all age win.

Congratulations to John and Mona Dunn on their placements with Cove Creek Bucco 'Cutch'. Cutch received 4th in the first puppy and won the 2nd puppy! Great job!

Big Congratulations to Chris Wilkinson and his two dogs Elvis and Rip! They ran in the amatuer all age today and received 3rd place with Elvis and 1st place with Rip! Rip is now an Amateur Field Champion!

Breeding Announcement!

We are very excited to share the upcoming planned breeding of Pheasant Feather’s Wild Lily 'Scout' and FC FTCH Bad Habit's Beyblade Let it Rip 'Rip'!

If you're interested in your next hunting dog or field trial competitor, look no further! Both are great hunting dogs that are powerful and strong in the woods and the field. Separately, both have been previously bred and shown to throw strong hunting dog traits.

Rip has 7 career all age wins between the US and Canada (in the open and amatuer) at the age of 4. At the age of 2 he won the 2023 Parent Club Trial in the open and the amatuer and then received 2nd place in the open all age the following year. He was sired by 2xNFC FC AFC Rockey's Solo and his mother is FC AFC Cattails Stella Atrois (who received 4th place in the 2023 National Open Championship and 3rd place at the 2024 National Open Championship). He has proven himself in the hunt test venue as well with 3 senior passes and 2 master passes. Not only is he a great hunting dog, but he's also a great family dog in house.

Scout has several all-age points between the open and amatuer. She's an aggressive hunting dog on woodcock and grouse in the woods and chucker and pheasants in the field. She's a powerful hunting dog that will go all day long and then curl up at the bottom of her owners bed at night! Scout's grandsire is NAFC FC AFC Pheasant Feather’s Black Powder JH. In her 7 generation pedigree, she has a total of 6 National Champions.

The 2024 trial year has come to a close! We are incredibly proud of the dogs performance this year overall and at Nationals. Pickniyville Illinois saw over the course of the last 2 weeks close to 200 of the best working springer spaniels in the United States and Canada. We were very honored to have stood amongst these dogs.

In the open, Jim Keller handled FC AFC Pheasant Feather’s Precious Pearl 'June' owned by Joel and Ann Theisen to her 3rd consecutive national open finish.

Deanna Keller handled Bad Habit's It's a Family Tradition 'Bo' owned by Sean Eastman to finish in this national. Bo's and Deanna's first national to complete.

Jim and Deanna were also the first father and daughter to both finish a US National Open together.

In the Amateur, 5 Wildwind trained dogs competed and held their own. 5 completed the 3rd series. 4 completed the 4th. And 3 were called back and finished the 5th series. In this extremely competitive national, all dogs and handlers did a spectacular job.

NFC FC AFC CFC Mojo’s Joey Two Dots 'Dots' owned and handled by Mike Nolan received a Certificate of Merit for their fantastic work in the amatuer.

We can't express enough how much of a joy it was to watch these great dogs and handlers work their dogs this week. Great job to all, and congratulations on a great show.

Cleaning out the bird pens! Pigeons and Chuckars for sale! Chukar would make for a great hunt! Pigeons are awesome for introducing a dog to birds and training.

We have approximately 25 chukar and 50 pigeons for sale. Chukar are $15 each and pigeons are $11 each. Discount for buying all the birds. Inquire directly. All strong birds.

Arrangements can be made to utilize our grounds for hunting for a small fee. We offer realistic grouse covers as well as open fields with challenging cover.

It was a lovely fall day at Wildwind...but we couldn't help but be reminded of the significance and the loss felt today by many people. Happy Heavenly birthday to Camie Barrow. She was a fierce competitor, an advocate, a dog mom, an aunt, a wife, a sister, a friend....but I think to everyone who knew her, we just called her family. As we go from fall to winter and near the final stretch of field trials, we will carry her in our hearts and remember to smile 🐶
