Result video! I am so so excited about Biggie's improvement, he is not 100% yet, but I'm confident with some work he can be. It's always so incredible to see my massage techniques enhancing performance and comfort in these athletes.

This one was a rocky start. After many injections and vet visits, it was time to try a new treatment, one at the root of the issue. Biggie's largest challenge is his left hind leg, and over time his compensation was causing discomfort elsewhere. Thankfully, it only took 5 days and 2 massages, combined with therapeutic stretching and some kinesiology taping. I was able to almost completely restore his movement and get him comfortable enough to go back into the training rotation. I'll be posting the result video separately, (Facebook won't let me post two videos together 😅). And the results speak for itself as to how well this method of restorative massage works!
The final palpation of this sweet race mare! The results were incredible!
This is one video of a mare I treated a few weeks ago that noted a definite improvement within the first 10 minutes of her massage. She was incredibly reactive to even just my hands on the initial palpation. I was very pleased that I was able to use a Graston Technique tool on her at the end of the massage, this particular Graston technique tool singulates pressure better than a finger can, and can be fairly intense. And the best part about this massage was her improvement that stayed even after the massage was over! She ran her fastest race in her career only a week after her first massage with me. And I'm very excited to see her again and help her get back to 100%! I'll be posting an after video of the final palpation momentarily!
This is his favorite stretch!
This particular stretch (which I've never found or came up with a name for) is super great for horses who have a hard time lifting through their lower back. Sometimes when a horse "tropes", the can get their shoulders up and moving, but can't quite get their hind end up under themselves enough to truly lope in the hind end. It can also help horses who have issues with their SI joint, which is the case with the horse used in this demonstration. And lastly, even horses who carry themselves very well through this hind end, benefit from this stretch due to the chiropractic like results it holds.
This is a super simple and helpful stretch I use to evaluate the flexibility of the spine and elasticity of the muscles of the back (longissimus dorsi muscle and gluteus medius muscles primarily)
This muscle can be comparted to a person doing crunches, and if done very much can actually make the horse's muscles sore. But it helps strengthen and stretch most of the muscles in the trunk of the horse used for collection, especially at the lope.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and this stretch definitely works well on both sides of the fence!
