Dear Cat Doctor Friends,
As many of you may have heard, the veterinary profession is currently in a difficult state. Across the country, veterinary practices are overbooked and understaffed, resulting in long wait times and limited appointment availability. The Cat Doctor has been no exception; we have been looking for an additional veterinarian to accommodate the need for high-quality feline veterinary care for over a year now and have been so far completely unable to fill this position. We realize that many of you have been long-term Cat Doctor clients who are used to shorter wait times, same-day appointments, and speedy service, and that it may be frustrating to call only to be told that we can’t see your cat for a week or more.
Rest assured that we are working harder than ever to continue to provide great quality care to your cats. Our staff is made up of dedicated, talented, cat-loving professionals, and in the last week we’ve added two wonderful new members to our team - Christine, our new customer service representative, and Josh, our latest veterinary assistant. And we are still looking to expand our team so we can be there for you and your cats.
In the meantime, we appreciate your understanding when we aren’t able to squeeze you in for a last minute appointment or to refill your cat’s medication or food quite so quickly as we used to. We are doing our best to continue to provide the same level of attention and care to each of our patients that we always have, and that takes time. Unfortunately, this means that we may have to book your appointment a week or so ahead of time, and it may take us a business day to process refill requests. If there is a true emergency, we will do what we can to help you, which may mean referring your cat to one of the excellent emergency practices in the area if we can’t provide the best care in a timely manner.
At a time when many veterinary practices are managed by large corporations, we are and will remain a small, family-owned business that is dedicated to providing the best veterinary care for cats and the best customer service for the people who love them. We truly appreciate your support in this difficult time!
