Village we need your help…we couldn’t say no when it came to today’s intake.

30 dogs living in a home…some are babies, some are unsocialized but they all need help…the man who had them agreed to get help finding placement and allowed 15 leave to rescue today and we are grateful he has allowed us to help. Taking in 15 kiddos, several of which our very young, does not come at a low cost. All of these babies will need medical care and socialization before they are ready to go up for adoption. That is thousands of dollars that we are facing within the next one to two weeks alone and we cannot do it without help.

If you can, please donate towards the care of these inbound pups and their care. Today is the next step towards the rest of their lives but we need your help to pave the road ahead.

Tacquito update! He received his new wheels and we have spent the last few days attempting to learn how to use them. It is still a work in progress but we will get there and he will be zooming in no time! He is currently working through a UTI while in foster but once cleared and neutered, we will be ready to start finding his furever family!! He is incredibly sweet, silly and loves dogs and cats. He can be shy initially especially with men, but with patience, he does great! If you think Tacquito is a fit for your family, email [email protected] to inquire further 🩵

Tacquitos visit to the vet confirmed our suspicions…he sustained trauma to his back that has resulted in the inability to use his rear legs 😕 During his examination, they saw he has a fractured T12 , and two collapsed discs. These appear to be old injuries and there is nothing that can be done to fix them, we can only do what we can to make sure his life moving forward is happy and pain free. Due to his injuries he is incontinent (unable to control his bladder and bowel movements) so he wears a diaper, he also uses a drag bag (seen in the video) to prevent further wounds to his legs and feet but what he needs most is a wheelchair so he can be his best most active self as you can clearly see he wants so badly. This buddy is so sweet, silly, playful and ready to take on the world. You’d never know he sustained so much pain and let down in his young life. If you can help us, we are hoping to raise the funds for a new set of wheels for this sweet boy! Whatever wheels he gets will go with him to his new forever family 🩵 We need to raise $220 to get this boy a new lease on life, who can help give him that?! NEMO HAS BEEN FOUND!! He is a little skinny and has some scrapes but is otherwise fine! He made it quite a bit away but thanks to the swift actions of a couple of good samaritans, we were able to pin point his location and @dogdayssar was on their way and got a feel for the area and a trap set just in case. We were alerted by a family in the complex he had just gone by and moments later, PW Manager Dennis spotted him under a car. After a couple of moments, Nemo recognized Dennis and jumped right into his arms! He was so excited to see us he didn’t even want treats, just kisses ❤️ he is sleeping comfortably and will see the vet tomorrow to make sure all is ok. Huge thank you to everyone who helped spread the word, hang flyers and keep their eyes out. A special thank you to the entire @dogdayssar team especially Karin and Kim who took point and helped get Nemo home!! If you can, please make a donation to them. Our Story

Established on January 17, 2014, Paw Works was founded with the clear mission, to help make Ventura County "No Kill". By forming a rescue organization designed to place unwanted animals from county and city shelters in permanent homes, we hoped to help ease the tragic burden that is created when owners abandon their animals, and fail to spay or neuter their pets.

Ventura County was able to achieve “No Kill” status less than a month after Paw Works was formed, through the shear determination and support provided directly from our organization. Today, Paw Works takes in over 1,600 abandoned animals from multiple counties all over California, as well as from other rescue organizations throughout the state yearly.

With 98% of every donated dollar going back directly to the rescue, care, education and adoption to Paw Works' animals saved, we have been able to achieve significant growth in the past 5 years: 1) Over 5,500 dogs and cats saved to date 2) Two adoption centers in upscale, local malls 3) Opened and operate a board & train facility for our rescue animals 4) Created the Child Pet Ambassador (CPA) Program, which services over 200 local children with hands on interactive volunteer opportunities 5) Provided over 500 free spay & neuter services for low-income residents of LA and Ventura County.

With the help of our community, we can continue to off-set our yearly budget of $1.2+ million and continue our growth into long-term, local and national initiatives, legislation and education through the growth of our CPA program.
