After 3.5 rewarding years of providing care to your beloved pets, Dr. Marguerite Kissel will be leaving our practice. She and her husband, Dr. Joe Raleigh—a board certified veterinary surgeon—are returning to her hometown of San Luis Obispo to fulfill a longtime dream of opening a state-of-the-art 24/7 veterinary referral and emergency facility, Cerro Alto Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital.
While Dr. Kissel is thrilled for this next chapter and the opportunity to serve her hometown community in a much-needed new capacity, this decision is bittersweet. She will deeply miss the relationships she has built with so many of you and your pets. Your trust and connection have meant the world to her, and she is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of your families’ lives.
Dr. Kissel’s last day at VCA Camino will be May 15, 2025, so please make sure to schedule your pet’s appointment by that date if you would like to see her before she leaves. Beyond this date, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition of care to one of our other wonderful doctors.
Please join us in wishing Dr. Kissel the very best in her exciting new endeavor. Their family passion and commitment to advancing veterinary care up the coast will no doubt make a lasting impact in their new community.
