The official word from the Michigan Department of Agriculture on the recent "mystery illness" that has been killing dogs is that it is, in fact, parvovirus. Make sure your dog is current on the DHLPP vaccine. Puppies that are not fully vaccinated (3 to 4 doses timed appropriately) should not be visiting public areas; parvovirus can contaminate soil indefinitely. Hope this helps to understand steps to take to protect your pets!

PSA. 'Tis the season. This cat was brought in this morning after getting caught in a fan. Please knock on your vehicle hood before starting! She got some staples and medications and she will be fine in a few days. Owner gave permission to use photo in the hope that it will prevent injury to another cat.
