👋 Hi there! We are the Shimp family- the actual family behind Flowerfield Farmstead!

snapped these sweet moments in time for us! And I thought it’d be the perfect time to share with all of you more about our family + farm!

Nick and I (Cassie) started this little flower farm back in 2017- we had little experience farming but just dove in with both veggies and flowers! We started out part time and sold our fresh goodies at the . We fell in love with the farmers market atmosphere and everyone loved our fresh flowers! over the next few seasons we added another couple market, & and had learned so much about growing!

I’m the spring of 2020 we were ready to make our farm our full time jobs! 😅😂😍 We we’re so excited! However- nothing went as planned as you could imagine!

We had a few silver linings that season and made some creative pivots!

Our first farm stand (really, just a fridge on our front porch to start!) and a weekly bouquet subscription started during this time! 💗🌷

Over the next few years we found our groove & found out one my favorite aspects of our business was having you all out to enjoy it! I started teaching a variety of creative workshops in the upstairs of rustic barn! Fresh evergreen wreaths, dried flower things, candle making and fresh flower arranging!

Throughout this journey we grew our little family!

JUNIPER is 5, almost 6 and is in kinder this year! She is sweet and spicy and just the best big sister.
GEORGE just turned 2 and is such a lover but also a wild little guy! He is really into tractors right now and snuggling his new sister!
DELILAH ROSE, Lila for short is 6 weeks old! She is growing quick and has added so much joy to our lives!
RIO, the golden doodle- who you have definitely met if you’ve been to the farm stand or workshops - he is our forever greeter and best boy! He will be 9 this year! 🥹

I’m sure by now many of you have heard of the devastation in the wake of hurricane Helene- much of western NC was deeply affected. A small town that is especially close to our hearts is struggling! My aunt, uncles, cousins and their families live in Hot springs- just 40 minutes outside of Asheville. My aunt Debbie is the founder of and they could really use some extra help! Here is a way to directly support local people! Please take a moment to read about their mission/project and if you are able to any amount would be so appreciated! 💗💗💗

“ In the wake of this recent catastrophe, our school was fortunate to escape the worst impacts of the storm. In light of this, and in the spirit of Appalachian neighborliness and resilience, Woodson Branch Nature School would like to offer our space as a sanctuary for children needing a safe place to play and explore and be kids in the middle of all of this hardship.

Our families live in some of the most deeply impacted areas, and many families with children enrolled in other schools, which are currently closed with no-reopen date at this time, have no easy option to keep their children safe and supervised while cleaning up their properties and preparing next steps. We are prepared to open our doors to as many children as we can safely provide supervision and space for, but we need additional resources to do so!

You can help us help this community! All donations given will be directed to this project during the emergency, and any additional funds will be added to the in-house scholarship fund to continue to benefit families who need it the most in this area as we rebuild.
