Help us spread the word!
2025 Seneca County Dog license went on sale December 1, 2024.
Did you know that?
1. In Ohio, ALL dogs must be licensed and wear a valid tag on their collar.
2. Dogs must be licensed within 30 days of being acquired, or by the time they are 3 months old.
Benefits of purchasing a state required, county issued dog license include:
1. Wearing a license tag identifies the owner if the dog is lost expediting the reunion of pup and family.
2. Prevents a dog found wearing a valid license tag from being impounded, sold, or euthanized.
3. Dogs with a current license tag are held for up to 14 days by county dog shelter. Dogs without a tag are required to be held only 3 days.
4. Fees collected from dog license tags are used to fund the Seneca County Dog Warden Shelter. A funded shelter provides better service to the community and better care to the dogs.
5. Protects the dog owner from fines: The first time your dog is found without a license the fine ranges between $25-$75.
ALL dogs in the county are required to have a license tag.
