For weeks, a scrappy little dog was spotted scavenging for food in garbage cans. This sweet girl had been surviving alone on the streets, terrified of humans and darting away whenever approached. After much effort, she was finally caught and brought to safety.
After arriving at the Tift County Animal Shelter, it is clear how dire her condition is. Severely malnourished, weighing only half of what she should. She instinctively searches for trash even when offered a full bowl of food. She was covered in fleas and ticks, she had internal parasites and also tested positive for heartworm disease. Despite it all, we can still see a glimmer of her sweet spirit shining through. A glimpse of hope in her eyes.
We chose the name Mistletoe for her. According to legend, mistletoe symbolizes love, forgiveness, and the significance of small but powerful things in life, which is why it’s considered so magical during the holiday season.
We are asking for donations to help Mistletoe heal. Your generosity will provide heartworm treatment, medical care, proper nutritious food, and the support she needs to recover and find her forever home.

Meet Bramble, a sweet dog who’s found his way back to the Tift County Animal Shelter. Bramble has severe double cherry eye, a painful condition that clouds his vision and makes it hard for him to enjoy the world around him.
Bramble’s previous owner reclaimed him, promising to get him the surgery he so desperately needed. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, we’ve been unable to reach them. Now, Bramble is back with us, and we’re fully committed to helping him. In addition to surgery, he’ll also need treatment for heartworm disease.

We searched for the perfect name to capture the spirit of this sweet boy and decided that Lionheart fits him perfectly. This brave boy has been through so much, but his heart remains strong and full of love.
Lionheart’s journey began when he was found abandoned, wandering a convenience store parking lot. He was a mere 35 pounds, skinny and defeated, but with a heart that wouldn’t give up. Despite everything he’d endured, he never lost his will to push forward.
Now that he’s in our care, we’ve come to know the true depth of his sweetness. Lionheart is a gentle soul who adores people and craves attention.
