I graduated from American K-9 Training Center in Nashville, TN. as a professional dog trainer, 45 years ago today. It's been a heck of a ride! I'm so grateful and thankful to have been blessed to earn a good living doing what I truly love. Thanks to the thousands and thousands of clients who have made this possible.

We had another cool puppy come in for training this weekend! Last month, we had one came in from California. This one came in from Ohio! "Tellie" will do well with her obedience training. She has been properly socialized and has the right attitude! Thanks Joan and Victor Weldon for choosing us again. I think she makes number four for y'all. Thanks again!

Congratulations to Debra Exline! She received her (Quando X Ginn) puppy from us yesterday! Super nice puppy, socialized, crate trained, and with basic obedience completed.

This is the truth! Why do I hear about all kinds of problems everyday with people's dogs, that I never have with my dogs? I understand dogs are dogs. I am fair, and to be fair, you must be consistent. SH

My dog is not my child.

My dog is not my furbaby.

I am not her mother.

My dog is my friend. She is my partner and my companion. To treat her like a child, to infantilize her and make it seem as though she needs my constant coddling or protection, would be unfair to her.

She is an adult carnivore that I have brought into my human world. Because of that it is my responsibility as her owner:

1) To communicate with her in a way she can understand.

2) To provide leadership, discipline and mutual respect.

3) To understand her instincts and needs, and provide appropriate outlets for them.

4) To train her and provide her the skills to function effectively in our human world, including acceptable manners and behaviors.

Our dogs deserve to be given responsibility and allowed to be adult creatures, not perpetual babies. Please, don't try to make them tiny humans, they aren't and they don't want to be. Dogs are wonderful because they are dogs. Let them be dogs.

Well, Daisy made it here right on time. The professional pet transporter brought her to us for training from San Diego, California. We have been blessed to have had puppies and dogs sent to us for training from all over the U.S. for the past 45 years. We truly love what we do. She got to meet P.J. the cat right away! 😊

We were 5th today vs 2640 birds! We only sent 4 this year and we still have 3. All 3 are back in the loft tonight. Thank the Lord! Congratulations to everyone with an early one today!
