Happy Columbus/Indigenous Peoples' Day!

Today is World Rabies Day. Rabies is a deadly virus spread through saliva of an infected animal. Rabies is a zoonotic disease. A zoonosis, or zoonotic disease, is an infectious disease that can spread from animals to humans. Rabies is fatal, but preventable. There is no treatment, and the only test for rabies involves testing brain tissue on a deceased animal. Protect your pets, protect your family, friends and community. Please be sure your pets rabies vaccination are up to date.

Dear valued clients, We are once again asking for patience as we navigate the next week or two here at Lake Side Animal Hospital. This week 8/11 to 8/15 we are unexpectedly down to two doctors from our normal four. One of our doctors was already scheduled to be out, the other is handling a family emergency. We, unfortunately, will have very limited appointment availability, and we may end up having to refer patients to local e-clinics or urgent care facilities. As always, we will continue to do our best to care for our own clients, but in some cases, there may not be enough time or hands on deck to see every single patient. Alternatively, if you happen to have an appointment scheduled in the next couple weeks that you know you'll need to reschedule, please let us know ASAP, so that we may open up some spots for patients that are in need of care sooner than later.
