Meet Timmy! Timmy is almost a year old and has been coming in every 8 weeks since he was little for a bath/blow out/brushing...his mom's are EXCELLENT at keeping him brushed out and he's only come in with minor tangles but this time his mom said it's time for his first haircut because he's getting way to long....so I present to you Timmy's before bath pic, his after bath/blow dry/brush pic and his after first haircut pic! I think his length is perfect for him and will be easy for his mom's to maintain. ❤️

Ok y'all I am now set up to accept credit/debit cards (currently by keying in the numbers till I see how often everyone used cards to pay then I will order a reader) it will be $3 extra to be able to pay with card. That covers the percentage plus transaction fee that my grooming program charges.

02/06/2024

Putting feelers out there for all my grooming clients....if I started taking credit/debit cards how many would be interested? The scheduling/grooming app I use has a new system that would work with my phone and a card reader. There would probably be a $5 or less charge to cover their fees.

Due to the passing of a client I have a spot open in Paxton for a small dog. Please let me know if you would like that spot. PLEASE REMEMBER this is an every 4 week appointment ( the 2nd Friday of every month) and will be at 3pm(unless a client already on the schedule would like a later time which can be discussed)

For those that follow my page (I'll share this to my personal page as well) starting in January I will be grooming ONE Friday(which will be the 2nd Friday) a month at The Animal House in Paxton. I will be making my schedule and handling my own clients. On that note...

Requirements for my grooming clients that Im able to schedule there will be:
A strict EVERY 4 week schedule WHICH MEANS the 2nd Friday of every month at the same time WILL BE your appointment, you will also have to pick up your pup asap(I will be calling or texting about 10 minutes before each one is done and will give you an approximate time they should be done) ANY no shows or cancelations will mean you have lost your spot(more then 10 minutes late is the same thing). IF you want to keep your spot for the following month you will HAVE TO pay, in full for your missed/canceled/late appointment (with in 1 day of that appointment as well as prepay in full at least 3 days before the next appointment)to keep your spot from then on. IF there is a 2nd no show or cancelled appointment you will need to find a new groomer. I'm not responsible for reminding you of your appointment. Prices will also increase by $10 as I will be renting my spot there and will need to cover that cost.

Those appointments that I already previously had on a 4/6 week schedule have first priority. As well as I can only fit so many into my day there as I am still working one on one with each dog. I will continue to groom in Tilton at my home on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and will have my table from Paxton there so I will be able to do bigger dogs since that table can be lowered/raised for those that are able to start coming to me there.

I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause or for those not able to do the schedule I have in place. I have to put this strict schedule in place in order to continue grooming in Paxton. I truly do appreciate all of my clients and the support you have shown me.

This post might not be the most professional but it is what it is.

PAXTON CLIENTS PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

After the first of the year I will no longer be offering grooming in Paxton. Due to the rising costs and the amount of money I'm losing due to continuing no shows I simply can't afford to keep coming to Paxton and have no shows. I have bills and responsibilities and I schedule appointments and depend on that money down to the last dollar to be able to pay my bills. When I get appointments that dont show up for their scheduled appointment I am out that money and while I have people say if you get a cancellation call me, I either don't get a response in time before my next one would show or no one is able to come in last minute like that so I end up sitting wasting time and money when I could be working at my other job or grooming at my home in Tilton.

Just to update Paxton clients. (I'll be messaging those on the schedule already) My clinic schedule is changing so my Paxton day will only be on Fridays now. I'll message everyone to see about switching their Mondays to Fridays by the weekend. I am currently fully booked in paxton till December at the moment.

Paxton clients (I'm trying not to make this sound rude or harsh and this is just for my Paxton clients) effective immediately (and I honestly really hate to do this) my no show/cancelation policy (which I've had for over 8yrs but never really enforced because I hate having to do it) will be in full effect. My policy goes as follows. If you no show for your appointment or if you have to cancel with less then 48hrs notice (I'm sorry but that's even if your sick or at work) I have no choice but to charge you at least half the cost of the groom which will be added onto the next groom if you want to reschedule that groom for my next available time. If this happens more then twice I will unfortunately not reschedule or make another appointment for you at the Paxton location. My reason for having to do this...

My last 3 Mondays I've had 2 no shows and 1 last minute cancellation which cost me almost $400 plus 6 hours of groom time and $50 in gas.
Please understand that this is a business and my time is just as valuable as yours. I continue to groom a few Mondays a month in Paxton because I love what I do and I love all my clients but if this continues to happen I will unfortunately have to stop grooming in Paxton.

06/02/2022

Due to the rising cost in gas prices. Unfortunately there will be a slight increase in prices for my Paxton clients starting at the end of this month. I hate to have to do this but if I'm going to be able to continue to groom in Paxton it is necessary as this is almost an hour drive one way for me. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Just a quick update for all my clients. I will be starting a new job Tuesday March 8th. Those that have appointments set up already I will be getting ahold of if I need to change the day or if I need to refer you to another groomer. My days in Paxton will become very very limited unfortunately.

Mr Memphis came in for his first spaw day with me in Tilton and was such a great little boy...a bit nosey for his nail trim and trimming his feet but what puppy isn't lol. His mom also does a great job at keeping his coat brushed. Here's a before(he had fun playing in the mud at his home before coming), during/after bath and dry, and then his finished.

This shared post is older and isn't meant towards anyone, it's just a shared post that shows a little about why some doodles...or really ANY dog would need to be shaved due to matting. As a groomer I don't like to shave a dog down but it's humanity over vanity, I won't put any dog through demating, it's not because I'm lazy it's because it's painful to any dog and can lead to injuries. It's safer and better for the dog to shave and start over fresh. This is also why I stress so so so much about getting and staying on a regular grooming schedule (even if it's a groom one time and bath and tidy the next, alternating between the 2 so the coat stays at a manageable length) I also have no problem helping the owner showing proper grooming tools and how to brush through the coat completely.

Sharing because I see SO many people getting Doodle puppies. PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF! This breed is the result of amazing marketing, they are not by any means an "easy breed" to maintain.

*****Not my Post, shared from another. If anyone knows who originated this post please let me know so I can give them credit. ****

The perfect photo (shared from another groomer) to show how matting happens at the base (or at the skin). So many doodle owners are saddened to hear the only thing I can do with their pups coat is a shave because they thought brushing the top coat was enough. By looking at this dog, you may not see the knots and you may not feel them as you would a knot on the ends of the fur but once it starts its very difficult/ impossible to brush/COMB out... Not to mention it would be cruel to put the dog through. A quick once over will not work for these guys if you want them in a fuzzy coat. You really need to sit down with a metal comb and make sure you can get it through the entire body a couple times a week.

Often times I feel like owners don't believe groomers when they say the dogs has to be clipped. I always hear "I know he/she is matted, but leave as much as you can"... this photo shows, the only way to get UNDER the matting is nothing left.
I promise you, I'd rather not clip your baby naked either! I also don't want to hurt my reputation when the clients go around complaining about how the last groomer "scalped" their dog....But doodles are easily one of the highest maintenance dogs in reference to their coats. The combination of the soft coat of a golden, or aussie, or newf, or wheaten, or whatever they are mixing poodles with these days is a coat that is SO prone to matting. And even more so are the new "double doodles" that i like to call "double maintenance".

I even find some doodles on a regular schedule still need to be clipped once or twice a year (maybe not shaved, but maybe teddy bear length for a fresh start) because after all of the brushing and de-matting, the damaged coat seems to become even MORE likely to matt.
If you like a fluffy pup, you probably need to consider no more than 3-5 week intervals between grooming and set aside time for regular COMBING at home.

Please know, if you bathe your doodle you really need to blow dry and brush out right after. Moisture, be it a bath, rain, swimming, snow etc are all going to amplify matting. And if you know your dog is already matted-- bathing is only going to make it worse! Brush out BEFORE the bath.

AND!!!!! "breeders" who say they can't/shouldnt be clipped and OR not to give them a hair cut until they are 1 year are out of their minds and setting you up for a SAD SAD SAD day when you finally take your pup to the groomer.
