As promised, here's some more content from my recent trip. Jumbo electric eels from the @shedd_aquarium . This display was one of my favorites. This fish is one of those too many for me types, and it's always great to see them in aquariums fit for their needs. They are quite impressive when large, but you tend to see them come in tiny sizes for the dreamers who swear they will get an appropriate tank down the line.

Synodontis nigriventris, the dwarf upside down cats.
Lovely markings and adorable action. We imported these out of congo, and while not in any way rare or expensive, we have a lot of love for them and try to always have them. They are small growing and entertaining to watch.

Today, on one of my rare off days, I had the chance to visit the shedd aquarium with my family. It's been a few years since I've gone and was thrilled that I had some time to visit. This was one of my favorite exhibits, and I'll make it a point to share some more this week. The tank was filled with a big group of serrasalmus geryi. Big sizes they have been about a foot, if not a little more in length. Every little corner had Rams out and exploring or some form of headstander zipping around. I was sadly not able to catch it in time, but in the back cave, I was floored to see a Pseudacanthicus sp. LDA105. The typhoon is a highly sought-after fish. I noticed on the display they simply acknowledged having an L273 but didn't mention this fish or the L048 you see poke out around the middle. If you have a sharp eye, you'll also notice a monstrous anaconda lurking on the top left. The fish were in great shape, and it was a great way to enjoy an off day.

A day in the life. Here i am unbagging a part of my recent congo shipment. Usually when I see these black bags out of congo I know something good is in it. Can you believe they sent us an albino weeksii in one of these as well? Fish that would cost thousands in the hobby in what looks like a recycled clothing bag/ grocery bag 😂 if it aint broke dont fix it 💯If you can't tell by what I post. I think I am hilarious.

Crenicichla hadrostigma and hypostomus luteus P1
Collected in the Urugay River and part of a recent shipment. Very small group came in, and I've debated listing them or keeping them. The area they come from would be considered subtropical, so likely a perfect candidate for a room temperature set up, which is music to my ears as I have a great disdain for aquarium heaters. These are also dwarf pikes as max length is reported at about 4.5". Very limited information is available, but I was happy to see these were spawned in captivity, which is great news. It seems the females take in red hues, and the males keep some barring on the sides. Based on this information, it does seem i have both genders in stock.
