Breeder brag! Many of you remember our 2015 Drum filly, Regalus’ Box of Chocolates aka Molina, and our 2022 Drum filly, Regalus’ Wild Fyre aka Sienna. Both are now owned by Seth and Meghan Hayden at The Croft at Bucksville. Seth, Meghan, and their trainer, Juan Lahut (Lahut's Horse Training), came down to show this year at the Georgia National Draft Horse Show and brought Molina, her 2023 F2 Drum c**t Woody, Sienna, and their Gypsy mare. Molina placed 1st in the Light Draft Mare Halter class out of 13 very nice Drum and Gypsy mares, and Sienna placed 2nd! Molina’s 2023 F2 Drum c**t TCBV Bourbon and Chocolate (Woody) placed 1st in the Light Draft stallion Halter class and our 5-month-old F2 Drum c**t, Regalus’ the Inferno Rages On (Spark) placed 2nd! This was out of 12 quality Drum and Gypsy stallions of all ages.
As a breeder, it doesn’t get any better than this. The halter class is judging them on conformation alone and to have Regalus-bred mares, c**ts, and their offspring place first and second in a class of so many nice Drum and Gypsy mares and stallions, under a draft horse judge, was such a proud moment for us. Molina placed very well in her saddle classes as well. This is the quality you can expect when you purchase a Regalus foal. Conformation, temperament, and a good brain. We have carefully chosen our mare and stallion pairings from day one of our breeding program, always with a vision of where we wanted our program to be years down the road and always in line with what we understand the IDHA Drum Horse standard to be. Molina was the first Drum foal we bred at Regalus, and Sienna is one of the more recent. We have bred for quality through and through and I could not be prouder of each and every foal we have produced, both in temperament and conformation. If you know me, you know it is not at all in my nature to brag and it makes me uncomfortable, but this is one time where I am going to make an exception. I am extremely proud of what we produce here at Regalus Drum Horses, and I am truly humbled by the amazing homes our foals have found over the years and the friends we have made because of that. As a breeder, I could not ask for more!
We have one Drum foal due in April of 2024 and I am beginning to plan for my 2024 pairings now. If you know you will be in the market for a quality Drum in the next couple of years, keep checking back. Our foals don’t disappoint!
