Little Fern left for her new home in Texas today. We're thrilled for her future and can't wait to see all that she accomplishes with her new family. Watching our horses take the next steps in their journeys is always bittersweet, but we are so proud of this special girl and the bright future ahead of her. Wishing her and Lauren all the success and happiness in the world!

Now that I've finally had a moment to catch my breath after returning from the show, It’s time for a proper recap!

Regalus Drum Horses had another wonderful year at the Georgia National Fair Draft Horse Show! We took Blue and Fern, and both mares made us incredibly proud.

Blue placed well in the mare halter class, and together, we tackled the obstacle course with her trademark steadiness and grace. Silas decided not to show this year, so his buddy Caden Phillip’s showed her in the Youth Showmanship class. This was Caden’s second time showing a horse, and Blue was perfect for him. She’s truly priceless and continues to impress every time she steps into the ring.

Fern, shown by youth handlers Bella Hayden and Sophie Cirincione in all her classes, was a little superstar! Bella and Sophie did a fantastic job of showing her and she handled everything with the poise of a seasoned show horse, winning over countless new fans along the way. This amazing filly will be greatly missed when she heads south next month.

It’s always a joy to show alongside friends and seeing our Regalus-bred horses perform so well was the icing on the cake. Molina, Sienna, and Spark shined in their classes, and we couldn’t be prouder of these homebred stars!

2025 will be an exciting year for us at Regalus so stay tuned!

We are beyond proud to announce that our 2020 Regalus-bred filly, “Regalus’ Royal Checkmate” aka ‘Chessie,’ has been named Champion Draft Halter at the Oklahoma State Fair Heavy Horse Show!

It is so rewarding to see the countless hours spent carefully choosing stallion and mare pairings pay off in the show ring! Our Regalus-bred foals are making us so proud, and we couldn’t be more excited about their bright futures! A special congratulations to Chessie’s owner Karen Feuerborn of Split Oak Ranch for her amazing care and training of Chessie.

Karen, congratulations on everything you’ve achieved with your Drum and draft horses! We can’t wait to hear about even more of your successes in the future!

Sale Pending!
Little Fern was so cute last night. She was feeling spunky when I fed, so I grabbed some video. The pictures aren't great but still too cute not to share. :-) Fern is available to an exceptional home.

Little Fern’s color test finally came back last week, and she is not roan. As much as I would love to hold on to her, we have limited spaces and I have kept one for another roan foal. Though I am disappointed she is not roan, nothing else about this filly is disappointing. Ruby and Icor produce stellar Drum Horse foals and Fern is no exception. She is simply stunning. She will have plenty of hair and feather and of course she is a rare chestnut (in Drum Horses). She is as sweet and smart as she is beautiful, and she is already learning her baby lessons quickly and enjoying them. If you are in the market for a Drum filly, she will be a one-of-a-kind addition!

We are so proud to announce the arrival of Ruby and Icor’s beautiful chestnut F1 Drum filly “Regalus’ Red Fern” born 4-11-24. We are already in love with this little firecracker! I can’t tell yet if she is roan, so we’ll have to wait for her color test to come back to know for sure on that, but either way she is something special!

It has been a bittersweet week for us at Regalus. Our little Sparky Spark has found his new home with Seth and Meghan at The Croft at Bucksville! I am absolutely thrilled about his future with them, but we are going to miss this sweet, beautiful boy! Spark is the last of this Lp line in the Drum breed so I am so excited that Seth and Meghan will be keeping him intact, and he will receive his training under the very capable hands of Juan Lahut! They are continuing two separate Lp lines that you won’t find anywhere else in the Drum Horse breed and the two c**ts from these lines are exceptional. Thank you, Seth and Meghan, for giving another one of our babies an exceptional home, once again. We anticipate some great things from our Spark, and we know if anyone can take him there it is you guys!

Breeder brag! Many of you remember our 2015 Drum filly, Regalus’ Box of Chocolates aka Molina, and our 2022 Drum filly, Regalus’ Wild Fyre aka Sienna. Both are now owned by Seth and Meghan Hayden at The Croft at Bucksville. Seth, Meghan, and their trainer, Juan Lahut (Lahut's Horse Training), came down to show this year at the Georgia National Draft Horse Show and brought Molina, her 2023 F2 Drum c**t Woody, Sienna, and their Gypsy mare. Molina placed 1st in the Light Draft Mare Halter class out of 13 very nice Drum and Gypsy mares, and Sienna placed 2nd! Molina’s 2023 F2 Drum c**t TCBV Bourbon and Chocolate (Woody) placed 1st in the Light Draft stallion Halter class and our 5-month-old F2 Drum c**t, Regalus’ the Inferno Rages On (Spark) placed 2nd! This was out of 12 quality Drum and Gypsy stallions of all ages.

As a breeder, it doesn’t get any better than this. The halter class is judging them on conformation alone and to have Regalus-bred mares, c**ts, and their offspring place first and second in a class of so many nice Drum and Gypsy mares and stallions, under a draft horse judge, was such a proud moment for us. Molina placed very well in her saddle classes as well. This is the quality you can expect when you purchase a Regalus foal. Conformation, temperament, and a good brain. We have carefully chosen our mare and stallion pairings from day one of our breeding program, always with a vision of where we wanted our program to be years down the road and always in line with what we understand the IDHA Drum Horse standard to be. Molina was the first Drum foal we bred at Regalus, and Sienna is one of the more recent. We have bred for quality through and through and I could not be prouder of each and every foal we have produced, both in temperament and conformation. If you know me, you know it is not at all in my nature to brag and it makes me uncomfortable, but this is one time where I am going to make an exception. I am extremely proud of what we produce here at Regalus Drum Horses, and I am truly humbled by the amazing homes our foals have found over the years and the friends we have made because of that. As a breeder, I could not ask for more!

We have one Drum foal due in April of 2024 and I am beginning to plan for my 2024 pairings now. If you know you will be in the market for a quality Drum in the next couple of years, keep checking back. Our foals don’t disappoint!
