The Pride Parade dog treats are out of the oven and ready to be bagged. We aren't bakers but the dogs at the Rescue love them!! We can't wait to see everyone as we celebrate Equality and Inclusion on Adams Street. The parade starts on 17th and Adams at noon.

This handsome fella was picked up by Oregon Police Department after his owner got arrested. He is sweet, friendly, loves head scratches, and is a big man! Tubb's owner was supposed to pick him after he was released, but alas never came back for the Sgt. Now Tubbs is with us looking for his forever home!

Alice is deaf so training her to leash walk, sit, stay and other basic skills has been a challenge. In just 2 training visits, Alice has already seen big improvements. Staff member Shawn has tirelessly worked with Alice between sessions and it shows. Alice is ready to go home and the Rescue will provide YOU training so that Alice will be the bestest girl for you too! ๐๐ข๐๐๐จ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฏ๐๐ณ is a 4-month-old male Jack-Russel-mix. He is good with dogs, cats, and kids. His favorite activity is yanking croc charms off of crocs. He doesn't think they're proper workplace attire.๐
๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ค is a 5-year-old Pitty-mix. He is good with dogs and cats. He is good with older kids. (He's big and knocks little ones over.) His favorite activity is eating grass and not stopping when you ask him too. ๐ฑ
All jokes aside, feel free to stop in anytime between 10am-3:30pm to get to know our wonderful pups! And remember, through the month of June, dog adoptions are reduced to $130 for adults and $185 for puppies!

The stress and feelings of inadequacy when we ๐๐๐'๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ bleed over into our personal lives. We ๐๐๐๐๐ we are superheroes and many times we are. But during those times we aren't...well, those times are tough. There are more of you who call for help than there are of us doing the helping. There are more animals in need than there are spaces in shelters and rescues. Please try to remember this when you call us about a found kitten or seek to relinquish your pet. We are all doing our best and will continue to help those we can. And of course, by adopting from a shelter or rescue and ensuring your pets are spayed or neutered ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐. Caturday means Laser Tag at the Rescue. Enrichment and exercise are so important to the well-being of our cats. Plus, it's a hoot to watch them go nuts thinking they have a chance of catching the little red dot!!
So this happened this week. This cat was found at a business and taken in by a good Samaritan who was unaware she had wee kittens hidden. After bringing the mom home, she almost immediately fled. The next day, the 3-day-old kittens were found and brought to the Rescue for care. Not 24 hours later, the mom was captured and, again brought to us. As you can see, she took to her babies in no time. Through the hard work of our staff, our foster, Elliot, and the community member, we were able to reunite this adorable family. Oh, and the mom couldn't be any sweeter and of course, the babies are beyond cute.

This is Weebles. He arrived as a newborn with his mom and 4 siblings. This little guy has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious. As you can see in the video taken a few weeks ago, he does not let his condition slow him down one bit. In fact, we think it has enhanced his personality quite a lot. He and his siblings will be ready for visits and adoption in a few weeks.
