This girl was exhibiting "bowl wrapping" - a technique used by snakes to regulate their body temp. Sometimes they do this because they're feeling warm but other times it could mean they're gravid. We won't know for sure if she's pregnant for a couple more weeks but until then, she's showing some signs 💁🏻‍♀️

Ball python eggs "dimple" or "deflate" close to hatching and according to the dates, these babies should start emerging sometime next week 😊
Fun fact: The hatchlings tear open the eggs from the inside with a small "tooth" at the top of their nose that falls off shortly after hatching. This event is called "pipping".

We tried saving this egg from Calypso's first clutch for the last couple weeks but we knew it reached a point of no return. So why not cut it open? 💁🏻‍♀️
And if you're wondering... it smelled exactly like you'd imagine 🤢🤮. Pics in comments.
