Be a Good Neighbor. We All Need Help Sometimes. 💓

Caring for animals isn’t just the responsibility of shelters and rescues—it’s something we can all take part in, right from our own neighborhoods. There are so many ways you can make a difference, and it doesn’t take much to show a little extra love:

Volunteer at your local shelter or rescue. They always need helping hands, whether it’s cleaning, walking dogs, or socializing with cats. Your time means the world to them.

Donate items you no longer need—old blankets, towels, or pet supplies can go a long way. Or grab an extra bag of pet food next time you’re shopping, and drop it off at a local shelter. You can even have your delivery service send one right to their door!

Check on your neighbors—especially those who may be elderly, sick, or struggling. Offering to walk a dog or drop off a bag of food can make a huge difference in keeping pets in the homes where they’re already loved. A ride to the vet could be all they need to help their beloved companion stay healthy.

Small acts of kindness go a long way when it comes to animal welfare. Be a good neighbor. We all need help sometimes. Let’s show a little extra love and care, for both the animals and the people around us.

🎉 Meet Pepper, our final Fix by Five success story thanks to the generous Petco Love grant! 🐾 Pepper, just a young pup, got lots of love from our team during her spay appointment—and we’re so grateful to provide this care early in her life.

Because she’s now spayed, Pepper won’t face the risks of unwanted litters, certain cancers, or the stress of going into heat. Instead, she can grow up healthy, happy, and free to enjoy her puppyhood to the fullest! 💕

Renee is our little swirl girl with her sweet cinnamon bun side swirls to perfectly compliment her brown tabby stripes. She may be slightly reserved at first, but we’re convinced it’s just her deciding if she feels we’re worthy of her attention! If you have cat treats to share with her, her decision will be easy! Renee gets along wonderfully with the other cats in her foster home, although there is occasionally some competition for the wand toys! Since she is more reserved in personality, we feel she would do best in a home with no children and another cat or two to show her where all the toys and treats are kept. 🐾

🐶 Meet Zelda, Our Final Pup from the $15 Lucas County Big Fix Program! 🐶

Say hello to Zelda, the last lucky pup to take advantage of our $15 spay/neuter program for licensed pit bull-type dogs in Lucas County! Zelda joins 205 other pups who received this important procedure this year, thanks to this special program and the amazing support from our community. 🐾

Spaying and neutering pets not only helps prevent unwanted litters but also protects them from serious health issues like infections and certain cancers. By reducing overpopulation, we’re helping to keep more pets out of shelters and in loving homes.

We’re grateful to everyone who made this program a success! Thank you for helping us care for pets like Zelda and making a big impact on our community. 💙

Meet Nino, a handsome 2-year-old Siamese mix with a personality all his own! Nino knows he is fit to be king and loves attention on his own terms and is not shy to communicate those terms. While he prefers to keeps his feet on solid ground, he’ll tolerate being picked up occasionally for his favorite humans. Nino would thrive in a calm, peaceful home where he can be in the spotlight. He is selective about any feline companions but has been reported to do fine with calm dogs. Looking for a mellow, independent companion? Nino could be your guy!

We just wanted to interrupt your scrolling to introduce you to Azula, this adorable puppy that was here for surgery today! Even our Director couldn't help but to stop and see this cutie!

Did you know that you can get your pet fixed with us as young as 8 weeks old and two pounds? Fixing them at a young age can prevent them from developing infections or prostate issues, there's no risk for testicular cancer, no messy heat cycles, and they bounce back faster after surgery!

Careful, if you bring your puppy or kitten in to get fixed with us, there's no guarantees we won't shower them with attention while they're here! 😍

We like to start our Friday's off right by squeezing in a mini cuddle sesh right before surgery. Our staff absolutely loves getting to meet everyone's furry friends of all shapes and sizes every single day! It makes our day even better when the client is reciprocating of our love. 🤣 This guy was more than ready to snuggle up this morning.

Otto is an affectionate love bug, born in April. He’s a sweet hearted young boy with a big heart and simple needs: at least one warm lap to fall asleep on, a little play time, someone to snuggle with at night, and maybe another cat or friendly cat-loving dog to keep him company while you’re away. In return, he’ll show you unconditional love and affection, keep you warm at night, and show off his skills with the wand toys. Otto really is the whole package and would do great with kids, cats, and friendly dogs.
