Tank is our next senior dog. He is another one that we are surprised we have had no applications on! Where are all of our senior lovers?

Tank is a loving, loyal and gentle dog who loves nothing more than to cuddle up on the couch with you. This 9-year-old, 12 lb male chi mix is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a small, affectionate dog.

Although he is a bit nervous around new people, he quickly warms up to them once he gets to know them.

He is a friendly dog who gets along with other dogs, cats and children, however, he would prefer to be the only dog in the household so he can receive all the love and attention.

Tank is well-behaved, and is house-trained and knows basic commands like 'sit' and 'stay'. He is a curious dog who likes to explore, but is also content to lay on the couch all day and be a couch potato.

Tank has not used a crate in his foster home so we are not sure how he will do in one. He will require a standard fenced yard for his safety.

He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Tanks’ adoption fee is $100.

**UPDATE: We have the female covered...anyone for the male?**

Now is the perfect time to consider fostering! We are currently in need of assistance with two 13-year-old senior dogs that require immediate rescue. These dogs, Shih Tzu mixes, consist of one female (black) and one male (gray), and have found themselves in a situation necessitating urgent rescue. We are awaiting further information regarding their spay/neuter and vaccination status. Our foster network is currently at full capacity, and we receive numerous daily requests for assistance with rehoming, stray dogs, and shelter dogs in need of rescue. If you are interested in providing support for one or both of these dogs, please complete the Foster Application below or contact us via messenger. We will provide all necessary medical care, crates, and food; you will provide the love and care. ❤️❤️

***Dogs are spayed and neutered ..no outwardly signs of health issues other than needing a dental, but of course we take care of all of that, and we will update their vaccinations.***

Marty is our third senior we are promoting! He is an 8-10 year old, 15 lb. chiweenie. Marty comes to us as an owner surrender. He was living his life in a truck as a homeless companion.

He would love a home where he is the smallest dog as he seems to bully smaller dogs - NO CATS!!

He has not lived with children so we are not sure how he would do around them.

Marty loves the yard, car rides, walks and stuffed toys. He will pick up a stuffy and try to take it outside!

He is very compliant when verbally corrected and will easily give up a toy. He will actually stop barking when told to!

Mary is an extremely sweet boy and is very social when meeting new people.

He will require a standard fence to ensure his safety when running around and playing in the yard.

Marty does know a couple commands such as sit, leave it and drop it.

He is potty trained and crate trained!

Our second senior, we are highlighting is Teddy! We do not understand why but he has not received one application yet.
Meet Teddy, the sweetest old Shih Tzu around! This dignified 13-year-old may be a couch potato, but he's got a lot of love left to give to the right family.
Despite his quiet nature, this funny old boy has a unique way of letting you know when he wants your food - he'll scream at you! But other than that, he's as independent as they come and prefers to take life at his own pace.
He's good with other dogs and would fit into any household. He actually doesn’t really pay attention to the other dogs at his foster home. He's even potty trained and well-behaved when left home alone.
At 26 pounds, he is the perfect size to snuggle up on the couch with. Known for his affectionate nature, he's a big fan of cuddles and gives the best belly rubs.
Teddy is neutered, up to date on all his vaccinations, microchipped, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Teddy's adoption fee is $100 and he is located in Toledo, Ohio.

We will be highlighting a few of our seniors in the next few days.

1st we have Walt a 20 lb., 12-year-old male Lhasa Apso. Walt has had a couple adoption possibilities but for some reason they "backed out" at the last minute.

He comes to us from a defunct breeder where he was used exclusively for breeding. He spent most of his life living in a wire kennel.

Although he would love a home where he gets all the attention and love he never received in his first 12 years of life he would do well in a home with other dogs, cats and children.

Walt is super sweet and just enjoys life right now. Everything is new to him. He loves his bully rings and has finally started finding interest in toys. He loves car rides as well and has the cutest little waddle when he walks!

Walt does not mind his crate; he feels comfortable in it and will sometimes choose to just go in it and relax. He enjoys the TV with his evening treat and usually relaxes with a chew. He recently has enjoyed running in the yard and is more outgoing every day. He loves pets and tiny massages.

He can be timid at first when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly.

Walt is just a sweet little guy who seems to adapt well to any environment he is in. He is very content.

Walt is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Bailey, 2 month old, female domestic shorthair kitten. Bailey's adoption fee is $125. (Please note, Dogworks does not typically take in cats/kittens. An exception was made due to the finder of the kitten being a current foster with us.)
